It appears that most reviewers are working with faulty information. These milk frother assemblies work flawlessly, better than any I have seen. But there are 2 very important facts:1. There is upwards of a dozen different models and YOU MUST SELECT the model that is made for your particular machine, for example this one is only for some of the ECAM44 series machines.2. When inserting the straw into the head unit, it can ONLY GO IN ONE DIRECTION! Put it in one of the other directions and you will likely block the milk flow.3. Bonus Notes: Remove the milk tank when it won't be used for more than 5 minutes or so. Clean off the machine's spout where the Milk Tank presses onto it. Otherwise, dried milk will build up on the o-rings. If you're going to store the assembly in the refrigerator, at least rinse out the head unit nozzle before you do, and at least once a week clean the whole frother assembly. Remove the milk exit spout from the head unit and remove the straw and rinse all 3 parts thoroughly. I've had good results putting the tank itself top down in the top rack of the dishwasher.So it's a safe bet that 99% of the Negative unit malfunction reviews are strictly user error, people who didn't take the time to understand either this device or their machine. And if the machine doesn't beep in recognition of the assembly when you plug the head of the assmbly into it, that's a good clue that you did something wrong, like purchase the wrong assembly.

This is a better option than the one that came with it. It has three frogging. I hope it keeps working.
