Paleo Pancake and Waffle Mix by Birch Benders, Low-Carb, High Protein, High Fiber, Gluten-free, Low Glycemic, Prebiotic, Made with Cassava, Coconut & Almond Flour, 12 Ounce

Yum!Love the convenience to have pancakes again as coeliac, but it totally tastes like old white flour pancakes. (Except im not starving again an hour later.) Even my teen kids will eat it, and they won't touch whole wheat; "organic is the devil" is their mantra. My boyfriend doesn't like the variety with the monkfruit because of that, but i love it. A couple pancakes leaves me filled for hours if not all day...very filling. The texture is very thick, fluffy, like an old school buttermilk kind, but it cooks best much slower. I have to thin it more than the recipe says and let it sit for a while and stir again or its too thick. So the hardest part is getting the consistency and cooking time/temp right.

So I bought these because I am trying to feed my family more natural and healthy foods. These pancakes were really good. I had read that adding a little vanilla extract helped them taste better and so I used some vanilla and my kids loved them. They have a slighty different texture than regular pancakes but really not a big difference. I have picky kids and they enjoyed them and didnt say anything about the difference. Awesome product!

The pancakes cook just like any other and come out just about as fluffy. The problem comes with the taste. It's not a horrible taste, but it tastes very off. It's reminiscent of adding too much egg to regular pancakes. And I don't mean just a little too much egg. I mean the recipe called for one egg and you threw the whole dozen in. The egg flavor is very in your face, and just too much for pancakes.It's not a bad product, but it's not what I was hoping for.

It took a few tries to learn the ratio of water and mix to use for my desired consistency. I love that it is so easy and meets my dietary requirements. I think it is a little overpriced but right now it is a useful product. I have also altered the mix depending on day... for flavor... i.e. add cocoa, cinnamon, sweetener, flavoring, fruit, etc...

This will not work for keto. These pancakes are delicious, don’t get me wrong. However, the serving size is 2 pancakes and the amount they suggest for 6-7 pancakes made only 3 small (3.5 inch) pancakes. So in order to get full off of this mixture you’d be eating 33 net carbs at once. The mix also won’t last long bc of this issue. Would definitely suggest looking up a keto recipe and making your own.

A little plain tasting but I add A few drops of vanilla in the batter and we make pancakes and Waffles to freeze.

I'm used to artificial sweetness taste but the artificial sweetness in this is disgusting. The consistency doesn't help. It is gooey even when I left it to burn to see if it would dry up somehow. It was still gooey and kept breaking apart. The only thing I liked is the cassava taste, but even that couldn't help me eat it.

Yummy. Convenient. Finally, an instant Paleo pancake mix! Full disclosure: It's a wee bit eggy & fiber-y, but that's easily taken care of. I measure out the mix, take out 2 - 3 tablespoons of it, and replace it with 2 - 3 tablespoons of almod flour & 1/2 tsp. baking powder. It's still THE most convenient Paleo mix anywhere.
