I think it was just a fluke so I put a little super glue on the adhesive and held it in place for a few minutes until it set up. The last one went on just fine. So far they seem to be very sturdy but of course they are only holding spongees!!Update 2/20/23The 3rd hook that I had a problem with ended up falling off my bathroom wall after about a week even after using super glue. I need to contact the seller to request either a new hook with the adhesive backing or just send me a new adhesive back. I’d originally set up some hanging hooks on a shelf across the room, but it was getting old having to go way over there when I needed something. While pondering the situation, I thought about using the side of the island/cart but wasn’t sure how to work it. I considered a few options before deciding on the hooks, including attaching a dowel or paper towel holder with S-hooks to hang the utensils, a small chain screwed to the island (with S-hooks again) but didn’t think that would look right. These allow them to be close but not obvious, and they look better than plain Command hooks (no offense, I use those elsewhere). They’re holding well so far, and honestly, I don’t expect them to fall considering the weight of the utensils hanging on them. I waited only a few hours after placing them before use. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the size; the larger adhesive area means more contact with the wood and they don’t look dinky. The color also matched the drawer pull on the front.
