I was so hoping it would be a good match for my oak mirror - which is also medium oak - as it is to go beneath it. I couldn't have got a better match (especially buying each the mirror and the shelf from different places). This is very heavy - I bought the 4.5 ft one.I love how it has three slots for the bolts, as opposed to holes (like the one I have in my hallway). This enables you to move the shelf along the wall either way until it suits (in case it's a little out). We did actually have to do that. This is a really useful touch as once it's up, and it's slightly out, that is it, unless you want to take it all off again and start drilling more holes.
