Yes4All, yes they can be, the iron is covered in Id say a rubbery, silicone type material, NEOPRENE. Matte with a lite texture. Whats in the box, no pamphlet, just 2, 5lb weights. They have a thicker grip, but not to much, I have small hands, and they fit comfortably in my grip, they feel of good quality. (Tip below says ) Functionality > for each their own. Quality:, they feel sturdy, heck they're weights, they do seem well made. Durability; Ive only had them 4 wks, so I cant say how they're holding up yet. No assembly & I dont remember what they say tht color is. So yeah, Im kool with'em

In my strength training journey, I found myself needing some incremental weight increases. I can't jump from 6 pounds to 10 pounds just like that! But trying to find the 7-pound size, in a nice neutral, attractive color was almost impossible. I saw some gorgeous creme-colored weights like this on the Pottery Barn website, but they were sold out and over $70 a pair! So when I saw these, I jumped at them. Here's my experience: 1. The color on this product page is not accurate. As many have said, these are a lovely creme color, very classy looking. 2. The packaging was very sturdy, with the weights wrapped securely in tiny bubble wrap in a sealed box, which was then placed in an Amazon box for double protection. They arrived in perfect condition. 3. The neck size (where you put your hand) is comparable to my other Target/All in Motion neoprene weights (see photo). The light green ones to the left are 6-pound and the blue ones to the right are 10. My hands are fairly large with long fingers, but the width should work for most people. 4. They had a very slight neoprene odor when I first unwrapped them (they were "cooking" in the Amazon truck!) but I washed them off with some mild unscented dish soap and cool water (which you should always do with hand weights of any kind), and they are scentless now. Super pleased with this purchase, especially considering the price and that they are, IMO the same quality as Pottery Barn. Happy lifting!

These are great! The perfect weight for doing multiple reps. They don't smell bad. Compact and easy to put away! Super functional shape and great grip!
