This may not be the best constructed, but for $42 I took it to the N. Umpqua in Oregon and caught a 32 inch wild summer run steelhead. I did find the sections would easily come undone, so I did have to place electrical tape around each section to keep the rod together, but if you are looking for a spey rod and don't wan t to sink 400-600 dollars for a starter rod, this may be for you.

I guess I was one of the lucky who received a well-made rod, now I read the reviews others have submitted. No, the rod did not break or suffered from any defect. I found the sections fit very tightly--to the point it required a considerable force to separate them. I did notice, however, the sections came loose while casting. I found out it stayed fastened, if I push the sections a little tighter towards each other. Operator error, I guess. One thing about the design of the reel seat is that the fastening rings tighten towards the end of the lower cork handle. It is the opposite of other fly rod's design. I did find that the rings do come loose during casting, and I need a small rubber band to keep the rings from loosening. I would not call this a flaw, since other reel seats tend to show this symptom. The corks are of very good quality, epoxy treatments on the sections well executed, The eyelets are strong and fast, and it has a hook hold for your fly, so that you could move to and fro without getting tangled. I am a happy customer. The rod propels the line like a rocket--wishfully thinking. I realize I need a lot of practice. So I cannot comment how well it casts! Mine did not show any faults or defects, and was made aesthetically. The sections fit precisely and tight. I'd say, it's a good deal!

This rod is all I expected and more it's very flexible and the 2 handles are nice and big

Bought the 13ft rod summer of 2019 for fishing Red Salmon in Alaska. Unboxed and set it up July of 2020. Caught 6 fish right away, but the the tip of the second section broke, had worked its way loose. Amazon website only offers 30day warranty. I contacted seller. They said no problem and sent me replacement section. Awesome!!!

Very disappointed in the quality of this rod. Bought for my wife for our first upstate NY salmon trip and I took her to our town park to practice casting it and the very first cast the rod broke directly above the court. You’d figure Amazon would rectify this matter for a $53 item but sadly mistaken. Don’t waste your time or money!

I have not had it to the beach yet, but seems to be a good for for the price. It would be better if it had alignment dots to line up the sections.

The 13’ rod is nice but it is multiple pieces and they don’t fit together vary well the Overall look and design seems to be high-quality other than when the rod is completely together it feels loose
