I am a complete novice when it comes to building ethernet cables. It takes me an embarrassingly long time to get all of the twisted pairs undone and lined up in the proper order. However, once I did that, and using a quality crimping tool, I made a cable and it worked perfectly right away. I like that this connector allows the wires to pass completely through it so you can easily verify you have them in the correct order. The instructions are quite vague, but I learned that after you pass them through, you then cut them straight and pull them back in so they are flush with the end of the connector before you make the crimp. If you don't, it is very difficult to clip the wire ends off enough so that the plug fully seats into a port. Even with that mistake on my first try, the connector worked (and is continuing to work many days later) without having to re-do anything. These may be cheap compared to name brand connectors, but I have not had any issues with failures.

Good quality. Pass- through connectors are "night and day" easier to use than non-pass-through

Years ago before retirement I terminated hundreds of Cat5 cables. I saw no need for pass through, until I started using them. I now have a 100 percent success rate with tighter connectors.

Two things - 1) these worked better than my older non-pass-thru RJ-45's for repairing older CAT% cables where the PCV had stiffened with time, much more reliable to get good contact for all the wires on the first attempt with stiffer PVC. 2) My old RJ-45 crimper worked OK except for not cutting the sections of wires that "passed-thru". Not easy to then to cut these wires cleanly/close to the connector body. However, with a little practice, I could get the individual wires close to the same length, pass them all thru, confirm the color-code positions, cut them close; and lastly, pull the now 'shortened' ends just barely back to flush with the connector - and crimp away for a good repair.

These plugs are just what's advertised. They are priced properly, require very little skill to link to cable and obviously a whale of a lot simpler than solid plugs to properly link.

Made preparing an ethernet patch cable so much easier than with the non-pass through RJ45 plugs. I didn't know they existed. It's like not knowing that needle-threaders exist!
