Good quality and powerful
My home office is about 5 degrees warmer then the rest of the rooms. I needed to put a booster fan in the ceiling return air vent to balance out the rooms. I placed this unit in the flexible duct located in the attic. This unit is probably overkill for my need, and an expensive option, however I required remote control and variable speed, and this was the only option I could find. The unit is solid built and quiet. There is noise, but it comes from the rushing air as it passes over the grill grate, the noise is not from the motor, that part is very quiet. It comes with plenty of mounting hareware a long cord for the on/off/control switch. I hope it can withstand staying in the attic in our florida heat, I'll post back if it has heat issues.

Nice upgrade from older gen fans
I've been upgrading some of my grow equipment recently, changing HPS to an LED light. I used to have one fan to pull air through a charcoal filter and another to cool the lamp. LED's run cooler and don't require a cooling fan but I decided to go from 6" to 8" fan and charcoal filter since this exhaust fan is now going to do all the work of cooling the tent. When I looked around at fans I noted that since last time I was buying gear some new generation fans that are quieter and use less energy have come on the market. The AC Infinity fans looked interesting but for some reason their 8" fan does not appear to have the energy savings that this one does. I was a little hesitant to order this since it seems to be a new model and there weren't any reviews but it seemed like the right gear for the job so... In the event this seems to have been a good decision. The fan runs well and quietly, completely lacking the rather significant whine and hum of older a/c fans run through a speed controller. The remote connected without any difficulty and has good range. The speed presets are reasonable and the interface is simple. The fan itself is very light, making it easier to hang in a tent than my old fans.

Great fan, quiet.
I used this to boost the HVAC to a distant room that was poorly regulated. I removed the base and mounted it between two new end plates in a 8x12 rectangular duct. Tied the power to the fan control thermostat circuit via relay so any time the HVAC was on the aux blower would be also. I really like the speed control, allowed me to get just the right bonus flow to the distant room. It comes with a digital and a potentiometer (rotary) type of controller. I used the digital one. Both retain the setting between power cycles. I have it set to 3 (of 8) and can barely hear the blower, even when right under it. It has about a ~15 foot control cable and 6 foot power cord. it also comes with a short breakout control cable if you want to make your own controller, with a tachometer signal available, which I didn't need or use. My only concern is the 140F max temperature rating of this unit, but I don't think my heater will violate it.

Works great and customer service is top notch!
We are using the fan indoors to take hot air from our wood stove and distribute it to warm our entire house. It needed to be quiet and move a lot of air. The 8" EC was perfect for this application. We had hoped for a quiet operation and the ability to set the speed. We were more than pleased. I did make an error on the installation which didn't show up until 18 months later. Customer service was very quick to respond to the issue, their very clear instructions to solve my problem was spot on and we are back to proper controlled operation. I would highly recommend Terra-Bloom products, they and their service are the best!

WOW!
I bought this to use as a power fan unit to pull the exhaust from my desktop laser engraver/cutter ("K40") and force the exhaust thru a series of filters (pre-filter, carbon filters, 2x HEPA filters). The air force this fan is capable of generating is insane. I actually bought this one after comparing the other models CFM specs. This one says it has an airflow of up to 569 CFM. I have a leaf blower that is 700 CFM and the force behind that is also insane, so I wanted a fan unit that could get me as close to that as possible while also being self contained. This unit does exactly that. It is also built extremely impressively well. No rough/sharp edges at all. This is as professional as it gets. And it does exactly what I need it to with regards to pulling air thru the filters. My only issue is with regards to my design in how I implemented the fan, in that I go from the laser's exhaust at 4" diameter, thru duct vent tubing, then to a 4"-to-3" reducer into a homemade filter box, out to a 3"-to-4" inverted reducer, to a 4"-6" inverted reducer, to a 6"-to-8" inverted reducer. The reason for all of the required reducers is because there's no easy way to connect a 4" diameter to an 8" diameter. It's uncommon. So the stark bump down in diameter drastically effects the pressurization internally. The fan wants to pull the 569 CFM thru 8" diamter tubing, but I'm only giving it a narrow 3" plus a load in the form of the filters. Needless to say, I'm really pushing this fan to a limit. But it's excelling at it.

Worth the price
Nice fans, powerful and quiet. Pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Good, powerful but Quiet Fan
I put a conical HEPA filter on the fan to capture dust in the air in my woodworking shop. It appears to be well made, is much more quiet than I expected, and has a variable speed switch. It doesn't appear to heat up after long periods of usage and is light enough to pick up and move around the shop (even with the large filter). It works very well, but in retrospect I would have bought a fan with more CFM because the filter is so thick it reduces the intake airflow by about 25%. Not sure what "Stretch" is as a rating factor.

Our hood fan doesn't exhaust smoke very well. The Kitchen usually fills with smoke and alarm goes off every time. This fan worked awesome at removing smoke. Setup takes 30 seconds. Might add a grease filter shortly.

Costs more than Vivisun but this one is built far better than vivosun and very quiet . takes significant amount of time and effort to install if you are installing this in a tight ductwork so better to spend the extra $$ on good quality booster fan that you don't have to touch it again.

The speed is variable to pretty low RPM, and shuts off at the bottom end. The top speed moves a huge amount of air. The decibels are pretty low throughout the range. Quieter than a smaller different brand I bought prior.

Despite being advertised as “quiet”, this fan is EXTREMELY loud, even at low setting. Would not recommend buying.

i was having a fan of 6 inches 300 cfm and i want to improved the airflow on my heating duct line and there s no way that this fan is blowing 700cfm that barely do better than the 300 cfm fan I have. The controler 0 to 100% doesn t work but the other controler with 8 speed works.Disappointed with the airflow on my duct line,
