Where no siren sounds?** A: Unfortunately this is not yet a feature allowed for the ring alarm. You can turn down the volume of the keypad(s) and base station. This will allow it to sound silently when contact sensors (doors, windows) are tripped but not for the panic button. I personally tested it with the volumes down and with professional monitoring turned off, when that button is pressed it will sound the alarm regardless. Same for the keypads (X+✓ being pressed simultaneously) **Q: Does this panic button cause an alarm to sound/make an audible noise (when pushed for 3 seconds), if you are not subscribed to monitoring service?** A: Yes - the Ring Alarm will sound no matter whether you are monitored or not **Q: I need a silent alarm button.It appears this is only a 'sound the alarm' panic button.Can it be programmed to notify the police,but remain silent?** A: This will sound your siren and alert the alarm monitoring station who will call you to see if you need the police. On normal alarm systems panic buttons are true duress signals and the monitoring station will notify the police directly to be dispatched. **Q: If someone accidentally sets The panic button off is there a way to quickly silent it before the authorities arrive?** A: It will alert monitoring and they will call you before sending the police. But you have to hold the button for 3 seconds to get it to work. After about 10 (or less) seconds or less after activating the alarm system with the button, the ring security system called us and then dispatched the police. Quick and easy access for setting the alarm off and not having to scramble and call 911 and tell what's going on and the address. We told the guy on the phone what the situation was and he stayed on the phone with us until police arrived. Definitely worth the buy.
