Played some lp’s that I’m very familiar with, and can honestly say there was an improvement in sound. Not an earth-shattering change, it’s just that instruments and vocals now sound a bit more like the real thing. Being able to switch between 33 and 45 rpm at the push of a button, instead of removing the platter and adjusting the drive belt, is almost worth the price alone. Now I don’t think twice about adding some of those new 45 rpm reissues to my collection. I like it a lot, and recommend it for RP3 owners looking for a little better sound and a lot more convenience. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST for Rega Owners *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2016* Simply a MUST for Rega turntable owners. As an example a stock P5 has a wall wart power supply that plugs directly into the motor. It spins at one speed which is dictated by the quality of your house electrical quality. Changing from 33 to 45 RPM requires a belt change. With this unit the power goes into it, it's rectified and provides it's own solid feed to the TT motor so it's rock steady. Switch speeds with a button. Well worth the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Inexcusable hum *by J***. on Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2015* I don't know how they can claim that it "lowers the noise floor", while it simultaneously introduces a hum/buzz to your music because of one major oversight... GROUNDING!!! 24v adapters (which the TT PSU uses) are not grounded. Internally, there is a grounding wire that connects to the metal chassis, but where does the chassis ground? It doesn't.Your turntable and receiver/amp should be silent when powered on and idle. When I connected the TT-PSU to my turntable and amp, a faint but still fairly audible hum/buzz emitted from my speakers and was FAR more audible over headphones which is how I do much of my listening at night. This hum disappeared whenever I touched the TTPSU, which pointed to an obvious grounding issue. Inexcusable.The workaround is to ground your TT-PSU yourself, by wrapping some copper wire around the left screw (when facing the rear of the TTPSU) and attaching the other end to your grounding source, which in my case was the dedicated grounding post on the back of my amplifier. Be careful, because this left screw mates with the internal grounding wire of the TTPSU at the front of the case behind the bezel. Removing the screw too far will dislodge the grounding wire. Your safest bet would be to remove both rear screws (which unlocks the front faceplate) and manually guiding the screw to mate with the internal grounding wire at the front of the chassis. It's easy, takes only a couple of minutes and there are videos on YouTube that describe how to do this if you need a walk-through.After manually grounding it, my sound system is once again dead silent. The TTPSU2 does appear to do what it claims... after being properly grounded, that is. I may just still be in the "new-toy-excitement phase", but my occasional "pitch" problems seem to be gone and lows seem a little cleaner/defined. The inclusion of the 33/45rpm switch was my 2nd biggest reason for dropping $400 on this PSU as my new GrooveTracer platter and sub-platter does not make swapping the drive belt easy.3-starsI'm obviously now pleased with my TTPSU, though can't give five stars to something that requires me to void my warranty (opening the chassis voids the warranty). According to others I spoke with at various turntable message boards, this buzzing is a common problem and Rega was made aware of it long ago and has yet to do anything about it (such as simply including a grounding wire).
