Great Flavor
This has replaced regular ground chili powder in our household. I use it in our own Tex Mex spice mix and the flavor is much deeper. I feel like we were wasting money at our local grocery on the smaller jars they offer. This larger container is a great value for the price. It also fits nicely next to our other McCormick and Sam's Club spices.

Hot, Spicy, and Complex!
One of the challenges of moving to a small town is losing access to the pantry items you're used to. Having temporarily relocated from a large city with a great bulk foods grocery store, I was in a panic when I ran out of my beloved chipotle powder. I use this stuff for everything! Steaks, chili, scrambled eggs, roasts, soups, and so on. You just can't find this stuff locally in the small town I am staying in, even though it is ironically in the SW states. I'd never purchased a Spice Appeal product, but for the price, I liked the generous portion and took a chance. Well, this stuff delivers folks. It's really smoky and HOT. I am thrilled and now the heat has been restored to my dishes. Skip out on the cayenne and use this for added complexity and flavor. A word of warning though, a little bit goes a LONG way, so start small and add more to your dishes. The first time I used this, I added a little too much and my chili was atomic!

Good stuff, nice flavor although slightly mild
I've bought this item several times - it does the job. Flavor is just a little mild but it is good. Great for making your own rubs or taco seasoning, really good in chili. Recommended.

Great chipotle flavor!
We've ordered this before, and loved it. We use it on all kinds of things. Unfortunately, the last time we purchased this, it had only been opened for a few days when we discovered that gnats or fruit flies had gotten into it. The shaker side with the holes had not closed completely. We've been having a problem with the gnats and fruit flies, but never imagined they would be attracted to the chipotle spice. They've apparently been burrowing down into it, and may have laid eggs or who knows what. Now we had to throw the whole container out, and I'll have to order another one.

Great Value
We use a ton of Chipotle powder. In the past we always bought Badia or McCormick in the grocery store, but where we live now it isn't usually carried and when available is expensive. I looked at a few of the reviews and it seems the negative commenters are comparing this to spices they get at a local farmer's market. Compared to the mainstream brands mentioned above I would say this is equivalently smokey and has more heat; so you might have to adjust the amount you use a bit. Save a smaller spice container to refill from the jumbo jug.
