I am not sure only if it the water cannot get inside if the entire box is submerged in the water for sometime. Otherwise it's a good buy for such requirement. **Q: Can it store 50 liters of water?** A: It might but it's meant for storage of articles. Furthermore to fill and collect drinking water is cumbersome.
