Amazon Basics Rectangle 12-Outlet Power Strip Surge Protector, 4,320 Joule, 8-Foot Cord, Black

The Amazon surge protector is an excellent product. The bright green light on the plug side of the item can be bright and distracting, but it is not a deal-breaker for me. However, I will have to replace it since I have to use it with an extension cord, which electricians do not recommend. It's advised to plug directly into the wall's power outlet. The unit comes with an 8-foot cord, which is good, but I need at least a 15-foot cord for my needs in order to plug into the electrical socket. The item is currently "unavailable"; I hope that it is reissued with more cord length options (e.g. 15-foot, 20-foot, etc.). I absolutely LOVE the spacing of the 12-outlets, which is perfect for my needs. I hope it is reissued with more cord length options, I would look forward to buying it again. I highly recommend this prodiuct.

These seem to be excellent power strips - I just put 3 of them into use and they work great. They have a high Joule protection rating - and I love the 4 separate outlets that leave you tons of room for large power bricks or other larger items. Most large surge protectors like this have them - but most are not as generous with the amount of space your given. The only downfall is the green lights for the power and protection wrap all the way around a unit and illuminate a large clear plastic insert. It’s not a big deal but they are super bright LEDs and are way obnoxious in how bright they are in a dark room.... I’ll probably cover the whole section in electrical tape to control it. Other than that 5/5!

Just got this to protect some of the new electronics I recently purchased. I had some surge protectors already but I wanted something with a little more protection for expensive electronics.I was actually really excited when I opened the box because it was more low profile (flatter) than I was expecting. I know a lot of people on here are complaining about the bright green light and if you are one of those people who needs to sleep in a pitch black room, then this would probably bother you if it was too exposed. It doesn't bother me personally and I actually like the green lighting. Though, I am also one of those people who likes RGB lighting on my PC peripherals. As a practical matter, I like that the lights are so visible because they do actually serve a purpose. One of the sides is for "Protected" and one of the sides says "Grounded". I'm sure I'm not the only person here who has been using a surge protector for a while and then one day you notice that the "Protected" light is no longer on. Then, you have to wonder just how long your devices have been exposed. Some of these strips have lights that are so small and/or dim that you usually have to go out of your way to check. I am using this surge protector under my desk and now when I go to sit down in my chair, I will know right away if my surge protector is functioning properly.Overall, I give this product 5 stars. It looks nice, it feels like it will last a long time and in my opinion, it is well worth the price.

This works great, has lots of plugs, great cord length, is solidly built, and looks rugged. I've never actually heard of anyone who had a "power surge" that blew up their electronics, but the cost of "insurance" through a surge protector seems pretty cheap - I don't think think you could buy a 12 outlet extension block without surge protection for a lower price.

This is a great functional power strip and surge protector. I used it to consolidate my entire home office setup. This includes a PC, 2 monitors, wireless router, modem, printer, battery charger, usb charger and laptop charger.The 4 extra large plugs work great for all those funky sized plugs that need them. I feel much more at ease now that all my devices are protected and it's convenient to turn them all on and off at the same time with a single switch.The 2 issues that made me take off a star are the super bright green lights and the main power plug.Bright green light: It seems this is a common complaint. I taped them all over with black electrical tape before setting it up. Even then the light is strong enough to bleed a little bit through the sides of the plastic!Power plug: I wish it was a side design instead of coming straight off the wall. This would have allowed the thick power cord to be neatly aligned to the wall rather than coming out 4 inches before curving down towards the strip.Overall, it was a great purchase for the price!

I love the super long cord on this. We live in an older home and the plugs are not easy to get to. This gives me a lot of plugs to use and there is plenty of space for the larger adapters to plug into this. It seems well made with a nice thick cord, too. I'm glad I got this one and not some others that I had been look at. I think this one gives me the best for my money. I wish I had gotten it sooner. I had been using a smaller power strip and this one makes me feel so much better about plugging multiple items into it.
