Review: Our favorite! - I have ordered these repeatedly. They are our absolute favorite! We were gifted a bag years ago and now I never want to be without them! I make them in the Instant Pot and they have great flavor and are super creamy. So much better than any instant type of grits.
Review: Great Grits, come and get it! - You know, the biggest problem some people have with 'grits' is the name. It's understandable that some folks might not want to eat a food whose name makes it sound like it's going to taste... well, gritty. That might be true for anyone who hasn't actually eaten this great food, or maybe grown up enjoying it in a long ago childhood. For those who may not know, The word "grits" derives from the Old English word "grytt," meaning coarse meal. Grits is a food of Native American origin common in the Southern United States and mainly eaten at breakfast. Modern grits is commonly made of alkali-treated corn known as hominy. With that said, you cook it in a pot with boiling water, somewhat like you would with oatmeal -- only with more water, a lower temperature, and a little longer cooking time. The grits itself is a rather neutral tasting porridge, so you can flavor it to your own tastes -- either with milk and sugar, or with butter and salt. But enough with the recipes. If you've never tried grits, find a restaurant that serves it and give it a try. If you like grits already, then this 2 pound bag of Carolina Plantation Grits has got your name on it, neighbor. It comes in a soft cotton cloth bag, which is good because as usual desertcart's delivery comes flying through the door so fast you'll want to duck.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SC grits are the best & only real grits, and Carolina Plantation is tops.
*by B***E on May 30, 2018*

Carolina Plantation grits are tops. If you like grits, you cannot end your shopping with store-bought, Quaker, Jim Dandy and others. There is simply no comparison to any of the grits made in South Carolina, and Carolina Plantation is at the top of SC's offerings, There is a distinct pleasant, fresh corn flavor that you will not find in grits from outside SC (or maybe one or two North GA gristmills). Cost? Who cares! Decent food and ingredients like the Carolina Plantation grits are worth it. Follow the directions on the package or web-search methods for cooking. These grits take 2-4 hours of cooking, but, again, it is worth it -- simply plan ahead.
