On my 2013 F150, getting the mirror glass off was definitely the hardest part. In fact, I broke my drivers side glass on the first try. After spending $$$ for a replacement heated, electrochromatic glass, I bravely gave it another try and was successful. If I had known, I would have started with the less expensive passenger side glass which is not electrochromatic. There are a couple of videos on the subject. The one from 1aauto.com is wrong in my opinion. Do not use your fingers to pull back the tabs unless you have extremely dexterous, long skinny fingers. Rather, starting on the outside of the mirrors at the bottom, use the service slots with a fairly wide blade slotted screwdriver to pry up the tabs while apply gentle outward pressure on the glass with your hand. Use a flashlight so that you can see what you are doing, and ***be patient and gentle, it will eventually free up.*** Then move to the inside one on the bottom. Once that one is loose, you will find the top inside one easy to release so hang on to it. Others have mentioned that they stick out more... This is especially true on the drivers side, where there are two tabs. On that side, there is a bit of a bow in it when installed, and I'm concerned about water getting into the bottom of the mirror housing where the puddle light is. I plan to disassemble the mirror and see if the wire is what is keeping it from fully seating in the space ... possibly will drill a little hole so that the wire can come straight off of the lights instead of being wedged under the lens. The instructions were not clear when it came to wiring. The lights each have a solid black wire and a striped wire. I disconnected the plug that goes to the existing signal on the back side of the mirror, stripped a bit of insulation off of the end of the recon wires, and stuck them into the plug, matching the striped recon wire into the plug for the striped (green) wire. Holding these in place, I reinstalled the plug onto the existing turn signal. So I was able to do the wiring without cutting into the existing wiring whatsoever. The lights aren't what I would call bright, but they are still quite visible as an extra turn signal. They definitely look sharp compared to the bright orange reflectors. I'm hoping these will last. If not, I'll just install the supplied black out caps instead. If these were a perfect watertight fit, and maybe a hair brighter, I would give them five stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐ expected better *by M***4 on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on March 22, 2015* All I've heard is how great recon is. Finally dished out 100 bucks for 5 dollars worth of plastic. The lights themselves are great and bright. But this casing was barely glued. Only a few spots so it seperated on me. Had to super glue then silicon . The lights I recieved were also a little short. Did not fill the gap. Alot of modification for such a small item. After all it looks great. That's why it got 3 stars. They look great on the truck and I have received a lot of compliments about them.
