Great product as long as you get one that works right out of the box
(5 stars as long as you have a working switch on your product.) Bought as a "used" product from amazon warehouse deals. Product was complete, new in original packaging. HOWEVER, Clearly the reason it was in the warehouse for discount sale was because it was DEFECTIVE! The switch mechanism would not work. Would not hold in the "on" (cook) position when lever was pressed as it is suppose to & would pop right back to the warm position. However, fortunately I had the understanding & know how to make appropriate adjustments to fix magnetic switch lever & shortly had it working properly. Bought this product to replace my old non stick Aroma rice cooker which the coating was badly peeling off of and had a pot made from aluminum. Happily, found out that this new stainless steel pot was actually the same exact size pot & lid as my old cooker & fits in my old cooker as well! Which means my old steamer & lid & cooker are all usable parts still! I am taking a chance & buying another warehouse deal of these so that I can have another to use. I have wanted an extra pot to cook in while one is stored in the fridge & a second one would be great. I wish I had known about & had one of these years ago. I really like this product. It is simple but effective. You can cook as little as one cup of rice in it at a time or much more. I wanted a larger pot because I use it for far more than rice. It makes oatmeal quickly & so easily. Other uses include, pasta, potatoes, soups, vegetables, shrimp, hotdogs, etc... Anything you might put in a pot on the stove to boil, you can make in this cooker. The bonus is, if you happen to walk away because of a phone call or interruption & forget you are cooking, once the water boils off, the bottom of the pot warps slightly from the heat, pulling away from the magnetic switch & the cooker switch releases turning the cooker to warm mode. Therefore the bottom of the pots contents only browns slightly but does not burn. The stainless steel with just a slight browned food stuck to it is much easier to clean than stainless with burnt on food!! Plus, in the warm mode, I can slow cook soups & other things in the pot for a whole day or more. I just cover the lid a bit more w/ a towel to keep the heat in better for slow cooking. I was happy with my first rice cooker from Aroma & thought it was a great invention, only I wished it wasn't a nonstick coated aluminum pot. In all of my other cooking I only use steal & cast iron & was not happy to have to use aluminum & non stick coating because of all the characteristic problems as well as health concerns with those materials. I was happier to find they offer it with a stainless steel pot!! Same great cooker made even better!! Plus the stainless steel pot "should" last for years & years longer then the previous aluminum not stick pot. I recommend this product to all my friends.

Aroma Rice Cooker - Would Recommend - Works Great
I have an old rice cooker/veggie steamer that I received for Christmas many decades ago that still works great. But the inner liner(or pot) is 100% aluminum. And we know that aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer’s. So now that I’ve switched to a Whole-Foods Plant-based diet/lifestyle, I eat tons more whole grain brown rice. The inner liner of the Aroma Housewares rice cooker is stainless steel! Score! And it cooks brown rice perfectly!! It is as simple and easy to use and clean as the old one. Measure the rice with the included cup & wash the rice. Place it in the pot. Fill with broth or water or a mix of both with the same measuring cup. Place the cover on. Plug it in. Push the button down to cook, and 30-40 minutes later you have perfect rice! You simply add extra liquid (1/2 to 3/4 cup) than normal white rice and let it sit on warm after the timer ends to give it more time to cook. You just have to experiment. The first time I cooked whole-grain brown rice per the chart and recommended water, it was just slightly chewy. So per the instructions I just added a 1/2 cup more water and left it sitting on warm. That did the trick to finish cooking till it was just perfect. The second time, I added more water than the first time and let it sit 10 minutes after the timer ended. Perfect rice! I haven’t cooked quinoa or barley yet. But they are in the cooking chart in the book it came with. I can’t wait to try cooking other grains! Update: Now that I’ve used this rice cooker for a couple months, and about 6-8 times, to cook long-grain brown rice, I can say it’s a great cooker. And I saw the other reviews that complain about the cooker spewing water everywhere. That DID happen to me the very first time I used it. But after that, it never happened again even when cooking more than I did that first time. The first time I only used 2 cups of uncooked brown rice, and yes it did spew and starchy gloppy water went everywhere. It boiled over. But the next time I used it, I placed it in my sink anticipating a mess. I cooked 3 cups uncooked the second time, and NO MESS. The next time (3rd time) I placed it on my counter with a triple layer of paper towels underneath it, and again - no mess! So maybe it is some sort of coating that is scrubbed or cooked off, after the first use. Yes I did wash the inner pot when I unpacked it, before first use. So that may be the reason. But I’m here to tell you it hasn’t happened since. I highly recommend this rice / grain cooker. It’s perfect!

This rice cooker is a workhorse
This is a nice little rice cooker overall. Cleanup is a breeze as the insert is stainless steel. Soak it and everything comes right off. We use it for all kinds of rices, as well as oatmeal in the morning and small pots of soup. It has worked quite well for us. The rice, well everything has cooked perfectly and cooked just right. This rice cooker is a workhorse.

So far, so Awesome! And for much more than rice! A half star deducted however...
Note - this is a Four and Half Star review, but Amazon doesn't let me give those. The reason for the half star deduction is the paddle (see below). Here's the 4.5 star bit: I am not an "appliance" person, but there are a few things that make sense: electric tea kettle; waffle maker; blender; toaster; stand mixer. After that, meh. Or so I thought. It's really hot here right now, and so cooking is not appealing, but I wanted rice. What I didn't want is a rice cooker that was huge or would heat up the kitchen or had non-stick, etc. So I didn't think I wanted a rice cooker at all, because they all had some or all of those downsides, right? Well, not this one. Here are its big upsides: --stainless insert with the core at the bottom to transmit heat. --well-rinsed rice means very little bubbling (I put a folded piece of paper towel in front, just in case) --a little oil around the sides and no sticking --doesn't heat up the kitchen --it's small and cute and all metal oh, and also --great rice --versatile (like soup and noodles! and spaghetti!) --perfect for one or two people I can highly recommend this one. I had one 8 or so years ago, but non-stick liner started peeling, kinda large, and I just never replaced it. This is one of the few appliances I need or recommend, but do yourself a favor, especially if you cook for one or two, and get this one. It's perfect. My only regret is that I got it in white. The reason for the half-star deduction: My ONLY criticism of it is that the photos show a bamboo rice paddle is included, but the rice paddle I got is a plastic one, something I'll never use with food, and like we need one more plastic thing on this earth. It's disappointing because I was happy to get a rice paddle that would store with the rice cooker, and I just hate being sold one thing and getting another. But in the mix of it, the paddle is only worth a half star off. Fix that Aroma people, and you get a five star.

Perfect!
We had our old Aroma rice cooker for decades. Same size and design but with a non-stick interior. The non-stick was nice but never fully resolved or reduced the amount of rice that sticks on the bottom. But not difficult to remove. Just soaked in warm water for a bit and it was easy to remove. The rice cooker was reliable all those years. Passed it down to a friend and bought this one with the stainless steel interior. Love the clean look of the stainless steel pot. Rice cooks perfectly as expected. Rice still sticks at bottom, but easy to resolve. You'd have the same problem if you cooked it in a standard pot on the stove top as my mother use to when I grew up.

PFAS free
I love this basic no fuss rice cooker. It cooks rice perfectly eveery time and I like the stainless pot, not only because it"s PFAS free, but it's a littlee havier guage metal and cooks the rice more evely, especially brow rice.

Finally—A Rice Cooker with a Stainless Steel Pot! 🙌
This rice cooker has been such a great addition to our kitchen. I love that it features a stainless steel inner pot with no nonstick coating, which makes it feel like a healthier option and easy to clean. It cooks rice evenly and consistently, and the keep-warm function works perfectly without drying the rice out. The 14-cup capacity is ideal for families, meal prep, or gatherings. It’s straightforward to use, well-built, and does exactly what it promises. Tip: Lightly rinse the rice and add a small splash of oil before cooking to help prevent sticking in the stainless steel pot. I highly recommend this rice cooker & I hope this review is helpful 👍🏻

3 tips to follow for perfect results: (Plus, 2 bonus cleaning tips)
This is my first rice cooker and I have gotten 6 perfect batches so far. 3 tips you may not be aware of that are crucial: 1) Rinse the rice first. No need to be meticulous, just slosh some water through the uncooked rice 2 times before filling with your cooking water. You won’t believe how much less it will bubble up in that sludgey way rice is prone to do when cooking. I learned this only after buying this cooker and reading the other Amazon reviews. It’s really true! 2) Measuring: First the rice measurement - When they say “cup” they do NOT mean a standard US 8-ounce measuring cup, that we Americans have all had drilled into us is the only thing the word “cup” in recipes should mean. It’s confusing I know, but the little clearish plastic cup they include with the cooker is the “cup” they mean. This is just standard Asian cooking practice, not unique to this brand at all. Millions upon millions of rice cookers have use this cup size for generations, that’s just how it is. Then the water measurement- The labeled fill lines they have etched into the inside wall of the steel pot show you how much H2O to fill it with. I have no idea what either of these volumes are in US standard measurements. They just work! Perfect rice every time 3) Loosely lay a bit of cloth over that little steam hole in the glass lid! Any dishcloth or a washcloth will serve It’ll catch any bit of steamy overflow if you are cooking the maximum size batch. It will also protect your arm from getting accidentally scalded if you happen to reach over it (Ouch!! Ask me how I know! 😆) Couple of bonus cleaning tips: 4) Soak the steel pot overnight in COLD water, never ever warm or hot, with maybe just a drop of dish soap. In the morning those stuck-on rice particles will slide right off when you go to scrub them 5) My brand new steel pot has no scratches, so actually, barely any rice is sticking to it after cooking anyway. I think interior scratches, even invisibly small ones, are what the gluey rice starch likes to form itself on when it hardens in your pot. So- If like me, you are starting out with a brand new cooker, with a brand new shiny metal pot, try to keep from ever scratching the inside of it as the years go by. If you refrain from scraping the insides with metal serving utensils, and don't use steel wool to clean it, you'll have much much less stuck material forming inside in the first place.
