Pros: - The device looks, feels, and behaves like a professional fingerprint scanner. Really solid. - FIPS201, FBI certified, etc. - Gives you the option of deciding, for each user, whether they log into Windows using just password, just fingerprint, either one, or both password and fingerprint. That's a big plus. - Integrates nicely in the OS... the add-on pack allows convenient file encryption/decryption, and so on. Cons: - The software is all in broken English, which makes me slightly uneasy... just feels like it was cheaply outsourced to some one-man team far, far away. Hopefully the quality of the UI / English-lacking interface does not reflect the quality of what's behind the software. - I don't see any way of updating the drivers as new ones may come out over time. They aren't published on any website and get sent to you initially by the merchant via email. Maybe you can just request them again from the merchant (Fulcrum Biometrics) if you ever need an update, e.g. for new versions of Windows, etc. I also don't see any auto-update mechanism in the main software. That being said, everything is easy to use, works as expected, PDF documentation explains everything clearly, so all that is reassuring. I've done quite a bit of research while trying to find a good fingerprint scanner, and believe this is the best there is. Highly recommended.

I will use this product for DMIT tests which is a kind of assessment from fingerprints so the clearness is very important for me. I didn’t sure about the performance of the product before buying but I am very satisfied.

Fingerprint reader is spot on and nails my fingerprints every time. Haven't been able to fool it yet with other fingers or with other people's fingerprints. Knocked one star off because programming website log-ins is not intuitive and a bit cumbersome at first. That said, once I figured it out, it is much easier to log them in.

The scanner looks to be well built, arrived well packed, and on time. What the Amazon listing does not say, though the letter that comes with the scanner says, is that there is NO SOFTWARE and you will need to purchase the Futronic FinLogon software to make the scanner work. The device drivers are free to download, but they alone will not make the scanner work. You will need additional software to make that happen and I am not certain that I will want to spend the additional money or download the trial software only to have to spend more money later. A one-stop-shop solution with software, drivers and everything required is the Verfi P5100; though at first glance appears to be more expensive, it will not cost you a dime after you plug it in (and works quite well on a Win 7 system).

I purchased the scanner and the computer recognized it. I wanted the scanner to log into Windows and the note in the box said to email the company. I did and they sent me a download link. They also asked me if I wanted the scanner to store online passwords. I said yes and I received the software also. (Software for both items was free of charge.) The password software isn't as robust as the software on my laptop but works OK. Overall I'm happy with the product and the software I received.

This product may be a good product. But this seller is NOT!! I received a broken product and no support. I spent hours on the phone trying to get support and got nothing.

This device, which was sold through Fulcrum Biometrics, was fairly easy to set up. It sure makes it easy to have that extra step of security for your computer! When I had a problem, or when I needed to ask them a question, Fulcrum Biometrics was more than happy to help us out :)

Only has room for 50 passwords!!!! very sad when i learn this from the customer support and they didnt have any solution.... Has some bugs too.,.. Works fine for windows login and website otherwise. Would have like to know the 50 webpage limit b4 purchasing

Comprei o aparelho em Julho de 2021. No começo até funcionava , mas de um tempo para cá para fazer a leitura tem que colocar o dedo umas 20 vezes, e as vezes não faz leitura. Contactei o Sr. Paulo da MVNET e este me informou que não existe assistencia tecnica para o aparelho, e a garantia era de 3 meses. Ao comparar este aparelho que comprei com outro velho e usado, o usado dá de 10. NÃO RECOMENDO A LOJA, POIS SÓ DÁ 3 MESES DE GARANTIA, enquanto outras dão um ano. Se fosse outra loja já teria me trocado o aparelho.
