The only instructions are one sheet with 9 steps and some black and white photos. There are extra "clips" (metal parts) completely unexplained. The instructions say to score and break the panel, but it does not score easily and when it breaks it cracks in pieces. It does score if you apply pressure with a level or heavy metal edge and lean on it with your leg while you cut...score carefully with a new blade about 20 times pressing hard into the same groove, still use gloves when breaking it, because it splinters.Don't scotch tape the cracks, the tape shows when you turn the light on. Dust and clean the backside facing the flourescent tubes before you install them because every speck of dust and dead insects will show when you turn the light on.I put small pieces of scotch tape on the edges to hold the panels in place, I am not sure if that will hold and it's slightly visible but seems to prevent big gaps of light. Small cracks look a little like "lightening" so they are more or less acceptable. I will have to buy one new full sheet to fill in the last "square."I have a total of five photos of this project, which did get slightly better after more hours of work, see new photos, overall it's better than before so I added a star, to be fair. Get new blades, gloves a ladder and keep pets and children away from the project and pick up or vacuum up the splinters with a shop vac (big one that sucks hard, don't pick up small pieces they are sharp like glass) to keep from hurting feet and animals.It is DIY but a helper could hold the original diffusers down while you cut and can hold the ladder while you install. There should be more consumer safety warnings about the material itself. It is not as rigid as the original material so it does not lay flat but still cracks if you bend it too much. Start with ONE PANEL if you have a small area.Turn lights off so you don't shock yourself, but if you notice any funky wiring this is the time to fix it, also inspect the underside of the roof while you're at it, if anything is wet or dark, call a roofer, don't wait for it to cave in. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice Alternative to Plain Light Covers *by A***Y on Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2012* These are used in an office that is also used as a photography studio. These dull the glare of traditional fluorescent lighting while being very decorative. We get compliments on them daily. The only reason I subtracted a star was because they were much too big for the fixture and had to be cut down and during the cutting process, one splintered. We were still able to use it though. Stands alone. Can't cut it easily though or it will crack. Tried to cut with some success with a power tool. Also very important to have frame clips (purchased separately).
