It's very spicy so if you're not into that consider using only part of the seasoning packet. The texture of the noodles is awesome. Best instant ramen I've had!

Update- so I mentioned these were super hot. I ate them 3 more times since writing this review and I used the entire seasoning packet. Turns out, they aren’t as hot as I thought. But they are still hot. More like a hot sauce hot. The heat level is similar to Louisiana hot sauce or Frank’s. Guess I had to get used to it. I told a few people about this ramen already. Also bought the bowl. It’s not as good as the individual ramen packs. These are adult instant noodles. I read the reviews about the spice level and I am glad I did! The seasoning packet is spicy! So I added only half the packet (actually a little less than half) when I boiled the water and stored the rest of the seasoning in the refrigerator for when I have to resort to Maruchan. I’m going to season the cheapie Maruchan with the Shin noodle soup seasoning packet lol LEVEL OF SPICE The seasoning is hot as in your mouth will feel like there is fire in it. If you can’t handle heat to your food, only use a small amount of the seasoning packet and add in your own flavors. I used less than half the packet and added soy sauce and dried minced onion while cooking. The flavor was phenomenal but still a little too hot for me so I added Colby Jack cheese and oh…my…..goodness. It was the perfect combo and the spice was no longer intense. However the heat is a perfect compliment to the taste of this meal so believe me, you will want at least a little bit of the heat. I did not think I’d enjoy cheese in my ramen after a previous experience with Maruchan but this was not that lol Cheese belongs in Shin noodle soup. Plus, as I said, it made the heat more palatable and my nose did not run. I added about 1/4 cup of shredded cheese and it melted onto the ramen. I even drank the soup afterwards and I never do that. NOT VEGETARIAN These are not vegetarian as the item description states. There is a separate veggie packet with dried veggies and beef. You can pick out the beef (which was very easy to do). There are only a few pieces. TIP Prepare the ramen exactly as the package suggests. I made a second pot of ramen and it was nowhere near as good as the first time around because I waited too long to add in the seasoning packet. The noodles did not soak up the seasoning and as a result, my bowl of ramen turned out bland and flavorless. I even added in extra seasoning and still, no improvement. Be sure to cook the ramen for 4.5-5 minutes WITH the seasonings! Otherwise, like a few low star reviews mentioned, the ramen will be flavorless. I’m willing to bet those people did not follow the directions on the packet. Just purchased a larger order because these noodles are so good! If you’re wondering what exactly is good about them, it’s the seasoning blend. If it was sold separately, I’d buy it. It’s incredible. Definitely not the usual salty seasoning junk that I’m used to from Top Ramen and other brands. Today, I earned my Grown Woman Wings from finding and experiencing this ramen and I just want to say, God bless America and God bless all of you.

I ordered a pack of this spicy ramen because it was highly recommended by Asian chefs and general consumers alike. They were not wrong in their recommendations. It is indeed very spicy and is indeed very tasty. I am writing despite burning lips to say I would love to order again but will limit myself. This ramen is for people who can tolerate high heat levels. Us wimps need to tread lightly. 🙂

These are the most popular noodles in Korea (Number 1 or 2 consumer of instant noodles per capita depending on source) and for good reason. Excellent quality noodles and the soup base is spicy but full of flavour. Comes with an included dehydrated vegatable pack, drop an egg (+another boiled one) + cheese in while cooking and you've got yourself a pretty hearty meal. Use less of the soup base if you can't handle spice, but if you can't handle spice I would not recommend this one. Great in winter, but honestly it's great any time.
