Plug and play No need to install extremely easy to use!
I need a barcode scanner to manage my online business, especially tracking stocks. I was always hesitant because I was worried it's too difficult to install the driver and software. Finally I made up my mind and gave this item a try. What a pleasant surprise! There's no need to install any software or driver. Just plug the included USB receiver(which is tiny, my biggest worry is to misplace it so I just left it plugged into one of my USB hubs). Once you plug that in, the PC just say a USB input device is installed and ready to use. WOW! I have not even try to install the driver. It's probably recognized by windows 7(I know my windows is obsolete but I'm too reluctant to upgrade). I'm still a little doubtful if it works or not, so I just pointed the scanner at a random item that has a barcode. BAM! It scanned and my browser is trying to find that UPC code by doing a google search! If I know this is that easy I should have gotten it years ago!!! I have not yet started mass scanning of my stock merchandise yet. But I found another great use to this scanner. My state's lottery website has something called "second chance" where you put in the numbers of your non-winning lottery ticket and you get entered into a second round of drawing. Entering those numbers is very very labor intensive, and if you make one mistake it will say invalid ticket and you have to enter that very long number again. However, with this very handy wireless scanner, I simply click on the box where I am supposed to enter the numbers by hand, and then scan the barcode of the lottery ticket. BAM! The correct number will be put into that box and all I have to do next is to click "submit" button. How easy is that! I have entered more than 10 different lottery ticket within 60 seconds using this scanner! This alone, worth the price I paid for the scanner! The only negative thing I can say about the scanner is it doesn't do 2D barcodes, which is fine because there's a more expensive version of this product that does those 2D barcodes. My merchandise doesn't have any of those codes so I don't need a more expensive scanner. I'm totally satisfied with this scanner.

Does well for the money
I had used a similar device a month before, and that device wasn't available, so I was looking for a inexpensive handheld barcode scanner. I settled on this one, the price was right and I decided to give it a shot. Compared to the scanner I used previously, it was much faster to scan, I was scanning the same kinds of barcodes, and it only took me a few scans to get the handle of the faster scan speed. I tested both wired and wireless scanning and both work as expected. The "B" side of the USB cable has an extra bit of plastic on it to fit snugly into the base of the handle, however, I think a regular USB A to B cable should work okay. I didn't test changing any of the scanner settings using the barcodes included in the manual. The only negative i've give this scanner, but not enough of a ding a star is that the wireless USB adapter is very small, and if you plan to use this at different locations is a good candidate to get lost, so be careful. Overall, I'm happy with the price/performance of this scanner. If you need a simple scanner this one is worthy of serious consideration.

Be careful if buying multiples!
I purchased one of these scanners in 2019 and absolutely loved it! I decided to upgrade all my scanners last June because we liked them so much. What a disaster! multiples of these can't be used in close proximity! Transactions were all over the place and items in one order would easily ring on three different registers. It created a huge problem and we had to go back to our wired scanners and hope that we caught all of the incorrect rings. Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, we didn't get to use these until recently and now can't return them.

list maker.
this is a fun and easy to use little gadget. my son bought it to keep track of his collections and set up a barcode sticker collection so he can see the list of what titles and styles he already has in each one and he loves it if he wants to know if he already has it he can look at the list or if he thinks he has 2 of something (doubles are stored away from display) he can scan the tag for it and see how many he has to know if he wants to trade or not. it makes him happy and he enjoys it i am glad i bought it.

Trigger button breaks within a month
Do not buy this item. I've purchased 5 of them and all 5 of them have had their trigger button break. Two of them broke within a month which they refunded me the credit fortunately. The other 3 broke at two months which is past the Amazon return date which I'm trying to connect with them to hopefully get these refunded as well.

Good little scanner for the money
I got this to do some prototype database development, and it works fine for my needs. Plug it in, and it scans right out of the box. I've tried it on a number of different types (3 of 9, UPC, postal) and it picks all up just fine. I've only used the wireless capability once, just to make sure it worked, and that seems to do fine, too, up to a distance of about 50, 60 feet inside a house. Probably works well beyond that, but that's as far as I went before I ran out of room.
