Someday I will visit the British Isles with the intention of visiting villages and listening to the brass bands they boast of. But the review; Heros is unique in it's presentation of various military-themed movie scores along with brass band standards such as Elgar's "Nimrod" and Walton's "Crown Imperial". Then there is Here's to Heroes, from "Dances With Wolves", and the most enduring and magnificent "Hymn to the Fallen" from "Saving Private Ryan". Gladiator most surprised me. I did not buy the album for that piece, but it's the one that keeps popping up in my mind during the day. Some of these pieces have intricate movements that done really well. If you listen closely, you can pick out all of the instruments; a great recording.
