A Classic Fresh Citrus Rose
Ahh Tea Rose by Perfumer's Workshop. 4 oz of EDT that wears like an EDP for $14 can not be beat A classic cheapie IYKYK classic. I was introduced to this gem by a beloved teacher who wore it regularly in the days when everyone walked around in their own personal cloud of scent. Overspraying was the norm. The formula smells exactly the same as it did in the 1980s but of course you do not need to overspray like it's the 80s. 2 sprays will have you set smelling rosy fresh for hours. It's not an elderly rose, its not a cloying rose, its a fresh rose like fresh cut roses that are still a bit green. A realistic rose. It's different than what is produced modernly in a very good way. The rosewood, sandalwood, cedar and amber give it a bit of depth but are very lightly in the background. The bergamot gives it a bit of fresh zest and the lily softens the blend. It's a forever classic and a ridiculously inexpensive bargain.

Yes, it actually smells like roses, but use sparingly!
I remember the Bonwit Teller store in Boston —the moment one stepped inside—smelled distinctly of tea rose. My mother loved roses and used this scent for many years. I have these two memories and therefore a personal attachment to the scent. It still puzzles me how something so chemical can smell like something derived from nature! Using too much of this will not win any friends because some people are put off by it, so proceed with caution! The bottle I received is tinted a clear chartreuse and looks quite artificial. I don’t recall my mother’s bottles containing this color, so she might have used the eau de parfum, rather than this eau de toilette formulation, or the addition of color could be a new decision. I think I will be given a huge trial to prove I can apply this moderately, as I tend to be heavy-handed with the atomizer! The bottle contains a generous amount of liquid for a modest price, so it is a practical purchase. Because so little is needed, one bottle should last a long time. Remember: Being forewarned is forearmed-use in moderation.

This fragrance is everything!
I've been looking for a rose fragrance forever! When I saw this one on Amazon I thought that it might be awful because it was not very expensive. I've used others like d n K Y Touch of rose that was delightful but wasn't really a pure Rose fragrance. Plus that fragrance was quite expensive and now I think it has been discontinued. I used another that was actually a body spray but it was so caustic that it choked me and I wasn't able to continue using it. But boy was I wrong to prejudge this fragrance at first by price! It's so lovely. I don't care if some consider Rose fragrances passe. There's something that's just timeless and romantic about a light rose floral. This one is heavenly. Plus, if you're like me and you like light citrus fragrances as well, you can mix both fragrances and have a really light floral with just a touch of citrus. I just got my tea rose fragrance today from Perfumers Workshop and ripped open the box. I was so surprised to find that it's a lot stronger than I thought an eau de toilette would be . You only need a spritz on your wrist and that's more than enough. If you use anymore it might be a bit overwhelming. But it is definitely a pure rose fragrance. It smells like you just inhaled the scent of a real rose. I love it and I'm so glad that I found this company! Well done! Just as an aside, I think the reason I have always loved Rose fragrances is that they remind me of my grandmother. She loved rose fragrances and she always kept little rose hand soaps in her bathroom and she used the Rose Milk lotion from back in the day. Do you know how much Rose Milk lotion costs on Amazon now? It's $12.99 for just 8 oz. I can't really find it anywhere else because most stores do not carry it anymore. Compare the price of this eau de toilette to that lotion and it's a no-brainer. If all of the Perfumer's Workshop fragrances are this good, I'll be a repeat customer and I'll definitely check out some of their other offerings.
