Best optical drive lubricant I have used
I have used multiple lubricants, from various types of white lithium grease to wd40 (which did not work whatsoever), and this is the best I have tried so far. It significantly reduced the noise in every device I put it in. Edit: so, it's been a few years since I put this in the optical drives I mentioned in my original review. I'm very happy to report that about two years later, there still has been no increase in noise. I've used this in other applications as well, such as one of the doors for the cigarette tray in my car and it works great. Highly recommend if you work on electronics with moving parts.

Great on Cd Changers
Love this stuff, and it works great for Sony Cd Disk Changers, or jukeboxes. I have used this grease on alot of my electronics, and their gears and all I had to use is just a little, and it just does the trick..

An excellent mechanical lube for electronic uses
Every had a sticking CD loader tray in a higher end CD player, yet can’t find an outlet to have it repaired or can’t afford the repair cost? Purchase this excellent DOW lubricating grease, remove a few screws from the devices cover, clean off the old lubricating compound from the tray surfaces with Cotton swabs moistened with isopropanol - rubbing alcohol and lightly lubricate the cleaned surfaces with this DOW compound. Sticking disc loader trays and sticky mechanisms are a thing of the past. Keep this lubricant around for a multitude of DIY fixes, from the car, to the stubborn hinge, to HiFi components electronics mechanical parts

Great Alternative to Keyboard Lube
Works great for mechanical keyboard lube. I did thin out the lube with another product. If you willing to do some research, you can make this in bulk instead of buying expensive krytox.
