Works well on antique leather books
Just treated 5 leather bound books from 1730 to 1840. Triple Crown worked well. I have used many brands over 30 years. I believe this one softened the dry leather quite well and fast. Did not leave the books with a tacky feel. I use my fingers to apply it to the spine edges. Heat from my fingers seems to help the leather absorb the Triple Crown. Buffs to a nice sheen. So far the Triple Crown is working quite well on leather books. Suede type leather books I think are best left alone. I have never found treatment for suede type books that did not make the book far worse. So far I give the Triple Crown a thumbs - up.

Wonderful for leather books!
Recently I’ve been downsizing my library, selling some of my leatherbound books on the site that starts with an “e” (don’t know if we are allowed to list a competitor site), and this leather conditioner is fantastic. Not only does it clean the books and give them a great shine, it can also improve defects. It improves the look of rubbed, flat-looking areas, and in a couple of cases it completely restored them to normal. I did have to follow the instructions for best results, which can be time-consuming: I applied it, waited 24 hours, then rubbed off the excess. If I saw some improvement, I repeated the process. Once it took three times to make the defect disappear. And, of course, in many cases there was no improvement at all, but it was definitely worth a try. If you are a reseller dealing with leather books, this is a must-have!

Works Nicely on Leather Book Bindings
I used this to clean / preserve antique leather book bindings. On the drier covers I used two coats and let the paste soak in for a couple of hours. After it dried I buffed them with a soft clean cloth until they were no longer tacky. This does not repair or restore leather with red rust but it takes dry, stiff leather and brings new life to the leather and wonderfully improves its suppleness so it is less likely to crack. I did not find it to be a hugely effective cleaner of stains on the leather although the cloth I used to apply the preservative did have to be rotated fairly frequently as it did pick up dirt in the process. I have used this product for a few months and the binding still look good.

Cleaner or Restorer?
Product has a real nice appearance when applied but seems to fade in shine after a day. Put on several layers over days to get the leather moist and supple.

MiLB Equipment Manager approved
I’m an MiLB equipment manager who works on baseball gloves every day for months at a time, and had a jar of this sent to me. I tried it once, and I’ve used it on almost every glove I’ve repaired since! It’s perfect, leaves the exact consistency we look for, revitalizes the color of the leather, smells amazing, and is really easy to use! I plan on continuing to use this for as long as I work in baseball!

Great for leather bound books
Does well for my leather bound books. It does smell like animal fat though, specifically like pork fat. Regardless of smell it makes the book feel and look great.

Great Product!! Recommend!!
Easy to use. Good quality. Will last for years. I was looking for a solution to condition my leather bound books, and was recommended this product. So happy I got it. Brings old leather books back to life with a bright, clean, non-greasy shine. Highly recommend!

Like the old treatment I'd seen my friend use
I know now they advise against treating leather bound books but we have some that were worth giving treatment a try. This seems like what my bookman friend used to use and I think it's helped the few I've tried it on. I'll buy more.
