## Overview

The Household Essentials Stowaway In-Wall Ironing Board is a sleek, space-saving cabinet designed for recessed wall installation. ## Description

This ironing board cabinet is a smart space-saving solution. The cabinet is installed 3.5” into the wall, leaving a little more than 4 inches of cabinet sticking out from the wall. The cabinet can be installed with the cabinet door opening on the left or right, so you can install it on the side that makes the most sense for your space. The cabinet’s door exterior is a finished white that can be left as is or painted to match other cabinets in your space. Inside the cabinet is an ironing board that measures 11.75” wide and 41” long, large enough for comfortable ironing while still being small enough to not take up too much space. The ironing board can rotate a full 90 degrees to the right or left, giving you the flexibility to position the board in the most comfortable and convenient space in whatever area you install the cabinet in. The cabinet also has a built-in height adjustment slot for the board, allowing you to raise or lower the board two inches at any time after installation. The board includes a one-piece construction cover and pad with bungee cord binding and stain and scorch-resistant coating for superior durability. In addition to the ironing board, the cabinet has two interior shelves to house a small iron and/or ironing accessories. The top interior shelf has heat-resistant paneling to protect the shelf when stowing irons that are still warm. Additionally, the top corner of the cabinet door has a dual-pronged hook so you can hang up freshly ironed items or items to be ironed. Cabinet must be installed in-wall between 16-inch on center studs. Ironing board opens 11 inches above bottom of cabinet, so keep that in mind when selecting height for cabinet installation. Cabinet door extends 28.5” from wall with door open and 44.5” from wall with ironing board extended straight forward. Interior of the cabinet measures 13.25” W x 5.375” D. Shelves are shallower than full cabinet depth.

Plenty of room for the iron and the spray water bottle most of us use while ironing. The directions leave a bit to be desired (they mostly all do these days, so this may help. You'll need the following tools to install this ironing board cabinet: Stud finder Sheetrock saw Drill and bit set Phillips screwdriver or power screwdriver 2' level Tape measure Pencil Vacuum cleaner I strongly suggest that you choose the location carefully as you are going to recess this into a wall. Be sure there is no electrical wires or plumbing pipes in the wall cavity you are installing this into. Also, if your interior wall that you have selected has studs on 24" centers you'll need to frame the opening down to 14 1/2" in order to mount the cabinet. The door attachment to the recessed cabinet is a little tricky to do by yourself, you may want to have someone give you a hand holding the door in place while you screw it in. Be sure to drill the holes into the cabinet BEFORE you install it into the wall or you'll struggle to get the door to hang properly. My wife loves the ironing board out of the way and easy to access. In addition, right out of the box it looks great on the wall.

**Q: what is the rough opening.**
A: 14.5 inches. Standered opening between normal stud walls. The RO is the space that the cabinet will fit in. As all ways please follow the manufacturers installation instructions

**Q: What are the rough in dimensions of this item?**
A: The Rough Opening 14 1/2" x 48"  If your home was built in the last 50 yrs the studs should be 16" on center and the unit fits perfectly between them. My wife just loves this stow-Away Ironing Cabinet. Hope this was helpful GoodLuck

A: I don't know but, personally, I don't think you would want to go smaller. This is perfect for an adult shirt or slax

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best purchase I've ever made

I've done a lot of research on stow-away ironing boards and finally had decided to give this one a go. It looked a little cheap in the picture (maybe because it was white) but I had a lot of faith purchasing from Amazon, because of their excellent customer service. I can't describe how happy I am with this product. It did not look cheap, was made with precision, very easy to install, convenient to use (I love that the board swivels to either side), looks very nice in the wall and soooo much cheaper than any other websites. My other concern was that it is a short board (I've always used a standard long one)but once I needed to iron a tablecloth I just folded it in half for ironing and it wasn't a problem at all. It is such a breeze to iron these days and I love not having an ironing board and an iron taking up room around the house. It's been almost a year of owning it and I'm still so very excited about this purchase! Thank you, Amazon! If it wasn't for you, I would've ended up purchasing a very similar product from Lowe's at 3-times the price.
