Happy with my purchase
I am happy with these speakers. They have a decent range from high to low, a clear sound and will get loud enough to annoy the neighbors. They were easy to install and I like they way they look on my back porch.

Buy the good stuff the first time
Selected Polk outdoor speaker after returning less expensive speakers. What a difference the Polk atrium 4 speakers made. Sound quality is fantastic. Install was a breeze. I would highly recommend these speakers. I was very happy with the purchase and so will you. Moral of the story: you get the quality you pay for

Full, rich and balanced sound from a relatively small speaker!
At their price point, these speakers represent the absolute best value you will find, period. I was in the market for some outdoor speakers to go with a 100 inch projector screen for my terrace. I've been a user of Polk Audio for many years, in fact, my home theater is comprised of polk audio tsi's except for the main speakers which are Bowers and Wilkins. Long story short I'm a fan of more "relaxed" speakers that let you enjoy the sound for longer periods of time without any ear fatigue. Once I decided that a 4 1/2 inch cone would suffice (I'm not trying to start a war with my neighbors here) I pulled the trigger on these. I could not be more happier with my purchase. Paired with my old trusty Denon Receiver in Zone 2, and without any EQ or any crossover for that matter, these speakers have proved themselves to be an absolute bargain. Speaker imaging is spot on with plenty of detail and separation for a nice, ample and defined sound stage that makes the speakers virtually invisible. Contrary to what many have stated, I have found the bass response on these to be more than enough considering their size and the acoustic properties of my terrace (they are mounted to a concrete wall and the area is roofed). You can clearly define all the highs and lows and since its a Polk those tweeters wont be overly aggressive , the only thing you will not get is the earth shattering base that you can achieve by adding a sub to the mix. The speakers can easily fill all my terrace and pool area (40' x 35') with sound without actually having to be loud. Another area where I was pleasantly surprised was with their performance in movies, voices, music and special effects all shine through effortlessly at any volume and yes, they can get VERY loud if you want to push them. So that's that, if your in the market for outdoor speakers I would not hesitate to check these out as long as you provide adequate power with a dedicated amp or receiver you should be good to go. Give them a proper break in and enjoy!

Pleased overall
For $100 these are some pretty good overall outdoor speakers. I had a pair of JBL outdoors that developed some buzzing and pops so I needed a replacement and I went with these. For reference, every other speaker I own (except for a pair in the garage) is JBL, this was my first Polk experience. Generally speaking they are a solid set of speakers. They give a pretty balanced sound all around but lack a little fullness in the lower mid-range. This is particularly noticeable when playing orchestral type music like film scores or piano heavy music. Going from the lower mids to bass is where they really start to have trouble. For the size of the speaker I certainly wasn't expecting to really "feel" bass but these do drop off noticeably in the lower frequency ranges. If there's something to knock with the Atrium 4's, that's it. With other types of music (country, rock, etc...) those issues aren't as noticeable. With that said they offer a nice high end treble sound that is pleasing to the ear. Overall the tone is brighter than I generally prefer (all of my JBL's have a warmer tone) but it certainly isn't a deal breaker for me. They don't by any stretch of the imagination sound unpleasant. For our purposes, general entertaining...using them for music outside while we do yard work..., they fit the bill very nicely. For $100 I am overall satisfied with this purchase. If you can afford to, or if a flatter overall response is important, then I'd probably look at something a little more expensive. If you are comfortable giving up some sound quality or if budget is an issue then certainly gives these a serious look. Installing these babies was an absolute breeze. The mounting hardware supplied by Polk is virtually idiot proof. It simply could not be any easier to mount these speakers. The installation deserves 5 stars. The fact that they are virtually weatherproof is also a plus, you can mount them just about anywhere without fear of damage from the elements. One other thing I really liked was the ability to swivel and aim the speakers to exactly where I wanted them (this could not be done with our JBL's these replaced). Power handling has not been an issue for me. I've got them hooked up to a 120 watt receiver and they been flawless to this point even at high volumes. We have a relatively large back yard so it takes some juice to disperse the sound and the Atriums are more than capable of taking it. I'll summarize this way; if you're looking for an inexpensive way to get good quality sound outdoors with something that is ridiculously easy to install then the Atrium 4 deserves strong consideration. If you can afford to get in to an upgraded version then I would probably look in that direction solely for a better bass-lower midrange performance.

Decent speakers for the price
For years I had Bose speakers on my sailboat but they are now so expensive. I got these and they are holding up well so far and sound good

Very good quality speakers
We build an outdoor patio this year. After a ton of research, we decided that speakers like these are better quality than the circle ones that go into the ceiling. We are on 2 acres. These speakers can be heard on our whole property very well. We are more than pleased. We ordered 4.

Very good sound quality for the price. Paired with a sub provide well balanced sound with a bit of eq. Without the sub the bass are a bit weak…

Installed in outdoor bar / kitchen. They’re under cover but I wouldn’t put a non outdoor rated speaker outside, even under cover. It isn’t just the rain, it’s the dew and air temp that’s can play havoc with this sort of stuff. Nice sound from the speakers. Perhaps the atrium 5’s would have been better for bass but you can’t knock the sound from these at all. Got them hooked up to a Douk audio amp via a Sonos connect. Sound is really lovely and the speakers are a nice quality.

Whilst the box was not damaged the speaker grill on 1 speaker had a big dent. Good sound but disappointed that it was damaged.

Se escuchan muy bien, son el reemplazo de mis bocinas antiguas para Atmos.

Mounted these on my back deck to replace an old pair of speakers that had failed. Very nice clean sound with good bass for their size.
