Great Laminator!
I have to say, I was somewhat concerned by the one star/no star reviews, most of which dealt with the laminator not working. I purchased it nonetheless, and I am GLAD that I did! Worked right out of the box, everything very simple to understand and operate. My first project was to laminate recipe cards for my wife. I put the recipes on 8 X 5 inch cards, and placed them 2 per laminate page (Fellowes Thermal Laminating Pouches, 5 mil thickness, and they work fine, with plenty of margin to completely seal the cards. I did 59 pouches in a row (total of about 110 pouches done for the project) without a hitch (well, one hitch - I wasn't paying enough attention to the feed and it sent the pouch through at a slight angle, enough to run into the side and cause a bubble. Good news though: I immediately ran it through again (properly) and it ironed the bubbles out; that was the only hiccup in the operation, and that was MY fault, not the machines. All in all, this is a splendid machine for home/light duty use. I used a Fellowes Neutron Plus Rotary Paper Trimmer to trim off the pouch excess, leaving about 1/4 - 5/16ths inch pouch edge beyond the card. The machine is very quiet, and I only have two niggles about it: 1) I would prefer to have the feeding guides a little higher; it's too easy to "go off the rails", although unless it's REALLY off, as in my error, it still works and feeds fine. That said, I recommend paying attention to straightening the pouch BEFORE the rollers catch it to prevent an angle feed. 2) I would have liked a slide out pouch support on the end of the feeder ramp - the Fellowes pouches have a good tacky surface that keeps everything in place, but I would have more piece of mind to have the unsealed end supported a bit more. Other than that, I am pleased with the purchase and functionality of this machine!

Laminator PRO
I am a preschool teacher. I have borrowed from other teachers different laminators, and this time I decided to buy mine. The only ones that are sold here where I live are the Office Depot brand one and the GBC. I find annoying when a carrier its needed.. and that happens with the Office Depot laminator, so I tried the GBC one as it was the only option left here in town. GBC besides that its more expensive didnt work well, only the left side of it actually heated and it was a pain so I returned it. I had the opportunity to buy this one (Scotch PRO one) when I knew I was visiting USA. The laminator works amazing! Super easy to use.. you choose between which type of pouch you are going to use (3mm or 5mm) by simply pressing a button, and after a while a "ready" word highlights when the laminator its all warmed up ready to use. Thats it!! And no carrier its needed! What is the only thing I didnt liked? apart that its a bit noisy.. that you cant use like a bit of the pouch.. if you need to laminate a small picture (for example) you need to buy small pouches.. or use a big one and trash the unused laminated bits, you cannot just cut the pouch and laminate it and save the rest for future use like other brands let you use it. why? well the manual says that it can get stucked. Apart from that.. I am super happy with it. I just laminated a whole calendar (months and numbers) and they look super neat and amazing! One of the thousand things about the negative reviews that I dont agree: GBC 5mm laminating pouches work better than scotch ones... they come out with less "bumpy" or "unlaminated" edges. But both work well and do the job. I recommend it lots.

OK
This is a great laminator. The only complaint I have is it squeaks and is loud.

Works well
Oh a laminator that laminates. Used for classroom purposes. Won't laminate posters but if you look at the size you could have figured that out, no problem.

100/10 RECOMMEND
I've been in childcare and teaching for 15 years, been laminating things forever. I was skeptical on this, but for the upcoming school year I'm homeschooling and needed something STAT. Of course Amazon delivers. So I've now made a memory game and some little animal icons for my 2yo. No precutting. Super fast and simple setup to use. Heat up time takes a couple minutes. Quality is exceptional. I bought 3 MIL Letter size pack and I couldn't be happier with the price, quality, quickness and efficiency. 100/10 recommend.

Tried two so far...
I had an older Scotch laminator that was recalled. So I chopped off the power cord and got my $16 refund from Scotch. Still needing a laminator, the Scotch TL906 looked like a step up from my prior model, but still cheap enough for someone that would rarely use it. I like the idea of having the tray on the back to help feed the sheets. I received it in the mail about a week ago and was excited to test it out on a few page that had been waiting to be laminated. After opening the box, I found that there was a blue wire hanging down in the sheet/paper path (see photo). It appeared to be connected on either end, but I wasn't able to tuck it up inside. Having paid for a brand new laminator, I didn't want to settle for one that didn't appear to be properly put together. Went through the relatively easy refund process on Amazon, and I received my replacement in a couple days. Unpacked the new one tonight so that I could laminate something for work tomorrow. Figured what are the chances of two duds in a row. Didn't see any external issues with the product so I powered it on. The power light lit green, and the 3ml and Anti-Jam lights lit white. After a second, the 3ml and Anti-Jam lights went out and the ready light started flashing green. So it appeared to be warming up. I selected the 3ml button for the temperature selection. Waited an hour and I could feel that the top of the machine was a little warm, but no change to the lights. I sent a page with a lamination sheet through to see if maybe the flashing meant it was ready (instructions are not clear). The sheet went through, but the glue didn't melt. It obviously was not warm enough. Selected the 5ml button as maybe the 3ml button wasn't working. Other than a slight indent when pushing the button, there's no way to know what temperature has been selected while it is warming up. Waited another hour. Still just flashing green and it's not hot enough to seal the sheet. About to start the return process on Amazon. Obviously there is a quality control issue with these units. I generally have a positive opinion of Scotch as a company and am surprised that they have not nipped this problem in the bud. I'd be embarrassed to put out a product that is obviously having problems. I'm sure with the number of returns they are getting that they must know about the issues.
