Sun Cap Fishing Hat Baseball Cap with Face Neck Cover Flap

I ride a scooter from my parking to work! Florida can penetrate and cause wrinkles! I wear this religiously! Great material! And does the job! Protects my face

As a professor I am bound to the grading scale. This hat receives an A+ for design, material selection and fabrication. This was the fourth hat I purchased in this style (baseball brim with neck flaps), and the first to provide all desired features: long enough brim for good face protection, long enough neck flaps to actually provide full coverage for the neck, and a neck strap to keep the hat on in higher winds.The addition of the button that helps keep the neck flap tight to the neck by securing it under the chin is a great feature. It doubles to allow the flap to be secured above the hat, too, when it is not needed.Additionally, the face mask, which is easily detached and attached via Velcro, works great in high-dust.The hat is very durable and well made. The four star rating for "lightweight" is not five stars because it is appropriately made with high-quality materials. It is very breathable and comfortable, even in hot work environments. I am currently using it in 110 + degrees fahrenheit temperatures.Oh, also, this is one of the few sun hats that actually protects adjustable portion in the back of the hat from the sun: the fabric actually covers the head as opposed to leaving that portion exposed to the sun.Highly recommended. It keeps the sun off of you, and lets the breeze pass through nicely. I haven’t used it for any prolonged periods of time yet, but it was very comfortable as I took the dogs out on a sunny day. The breeze felt grate and I didn’t feel any sun on me.I am trying to chose between this one or a boonie style with water resistant material that doesn’t let the air through as well. This baseball hat material will soak up water in a second. I’m not sure how fast they dry, but it’s probably pretty fast considering the material used. The wife and kid like this one the best because of the bendable nose wire and how comfortable it is, I agree and will be keeping it.PS: Why can’t I add pictures and video?

I've been buying various versions of this type of sun hat for years but this is by far the best design I've come across. I used to have to have snaps put on the drapes so that it would cover & protect my face. This hat has the option to use the full-on face shield or just the snaps. (One unforeseen benefit of the pandemic is that I don't look like such a weirdo anymore with the face coverings haha.) You can snap the flaps behind your head so it is out of the way or remove it all & just have the baseball cap too. I just love it. The chin strap is also a necessity for windy conditions; other hats I've tried before had a VERY flimsy plastic piece that would always break & I'd have to use a safety pin to hold the strap. The piece on this hat is still plastic but it's much more sturdy. I am extremely happy with my hat; countless people I come across while hiking or traveling have asked me about it & have ordered one too. The only suggestion I'd have would be to please make it in more colors!

I cannot give enough stars for this hat! Just received it today, within a few days of ordering it. My 77 yr. old father in law is starting radiation tomorrow, for head and neck cancer, and is not able to be exposed to the sun which is tough b/c he loves being outside. I went directly to Amazon to look around for something that would work best, and came upon this beauty. It is so perfect in every way. Super lightweight, great quality, the color is a perfect charcoal gray. The 2 separate panels detach easily to turn it into a comfy baseball cap. The back panel (that covers his neck on both sides/back) unbutton and the face cover is easily removed via velcro on both sides. It also has a drawstring to tighten it up around his chin. He is SOOOO happy, which makes me so incredibly happy. Perfect product for anyone in the same situation, or just for anyone who wants/needs full coverage while outside. What a bargain too!!!!

When I got this I didn't even remember it came with a face covering part. But it was attached, so I tried it. Then I fastened all the buttons. Then I looked ridiculous. But I could breath very easily. I could turn my head without anything sliding anywhere. I could press the metal wire around my nose and it contoured very well to my face. I decided to wear it outside doing yard work in the evening and it was Awesome!The mosquitoes are horrible in my area this year and still managed to find the skin around my eyes a few times, but I didn't get any bites on the rest of my face or neck. This is way better than soaking everything in deet and having to shower before bed.Right now with all the face covering rules everywhere this would still be out of place, but not by much. I imagine as winter comes on I'll be wearing this every time I go out.The only thing I think would be better is if the fabric was a little less breathable. I'm afraid it's not filtering the particles as much as would be ideal. I know it's not made for that. But it easily could be just by choosing a different fabric for the front flap. In fact I might just sew up a from flap piece and put a wire and velcro on it to have for the purpose.The quality of the construction on everything is also quite good. The hat is adjustable with a strap in back. The snaps all seem like they will last a while. The sewing is well done.

Bad / Cons:On the second image (left velcro of front mask), you can see how the seam is not complete, and this fabric (the mask's) is so delicate that after putting it on and taking it off several times it could tear.I have a hiking trip in a few days, so I'll be taking the mask piece to a tailor to see if they can fix the seam with a sewing machine.Good / Pros:Everything else looks fine.Come back later:I'll be updating this review after first trip.
