Brother LT5300 (250 Pg) Lower tray for HL-5200 Series Printers - Retail Packaging

I bought the LT5300 when I bought a DCP-8085DN to handle 24# paper. When they arrived I set the printer up and got it going. Then, per the instructions, I placed the printer on top of the 2nd tray. Seemed to fit, but the printer would not recognize the tray. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the PRINTER did not have a connector in the socket (on the left rear of the printer) for the paper tray. I used to work as a PC technician for 8yrs so I knew what I was looking at, or not looking at. I contacted Brother and explained the problem, after some troubleshooting they looked up the serial number and yes, this printer was shipped without the connector on the bottom necessary for the 2nd paper tray. So, to get it working I had to take the printer to a authorized repair center 30 miles away!I asked who was going to pay for my time while I was on the phone (a whole hour) and time and travel to take the printer for repair since it was an intentional oversite by them and Brother specifies on their site that this tray would work on this printer. They said they don't do that.So far I have run about 500 pages of 24# paper from this tray and it now works great and easy to use. Just be prepared that your printer may need to go to a factory authorized service center to add a part (Brother will need to ship it to them) for the tray to work.

I bought this tray for my Brother HL-5370DW. (FYI- Some sites on Amazon said this tray doesn't work with this printer. It does. ALWAYS check the manual or the manufacturer's website for accurate compatibility info.) Installation is very easy, just follow the 4-step instructions included with the tray, which is basically this: unplug printer cables, place printer on top of the tray, plug cables back in, use "Printer Properties" to configure the tray's default properties. The whole process took me about 5 minutes.It makes the printer about 3" taller, and the style and color are so close that it doesn't look like an "add-on". I use it to hold printer checks.While a little expensive (I paid about $110), it is much more convenient than changing paper out all the time, or using the manual tray. If I had bought the printer WITH the extra tray I would have saved about $50.

We bought 2 of these to be the 3rd tray in each of our HL-5370s (which already had 2 trays in them.) The way they work is if tray 1 is empty it'll automatically pull from tray 2. We added this tray 3 thinking when tray 2 is empty it'll automatically pull from tray 3. It does not. You have to manually tell it to use the tray 3. So if you are adding this to a printer that already has 2 trays, you'll have to manually tell it to use this one. Otherwise a useful product.

Just like my Brother printer. This saves the trouble of having to switch paper sizes between letter and legal. This is very important to me as an independent notary running my small notary business. If you use both letter and legal, try this out, you'll never go back to using a single tray again. It's really worth the cost to run your print jobs more quickly and efficiently. And, by adding on this accessory you won't have to spend thousands of $$ on a larger fancier machine as brother printers are very durable, last for years, and have a high print quality. What are you waiting for? Get online and buy it!

I am very pleased with this item. It was very easy to install. It came with instructions on how to get your Windows printer driver to recognize that it was present. There would be many reasons to get this. Non stop flow of paper, two different frequently used weights of paper. Two sizes of papers. I got it due to the fact we recycle paper by printing on the other side of it if it is not an important print item. We were constantly changing out paper. You have take in to consideration the 3 plus inches that it adds to the height of the printer.

My Brother 5000 series printers are great. The spit out printing like crazy compared to my HP4000,BUT!! every time I turned around I was having to feed it more paper during tax season. I missed the full ream capacity of the HP4000 more than I ever expected. So for a little over $100 I figured I'd try this add on tray.What a great add on. I literally just set my printer on top of it and it automatically connected. I had to tweek a few printer setting before it recognized the tray.Extremely happy with this item

I love it!!! I have to do a lot of printing and some of the documents are legal and some are letter size, so with the second tray now I don't have to print everything on legal paper. It was easy to add to the printer but I really had to read to get it to print from both trays. I called Brother and they helped me set it up. Over all I am pleased, the product came when they said it would and unless you look real close you would never know it did not come with my printer.

Bought the lower tray to print envelopes because we do 10-15 envelopes at a time. Tray worked well at first but now when envelopes print they come out so hot that it seals the seal on them. If you open the back door there are two little blue tabs that if you push them down you can print envelopes without them crinkling....our envelopes still crinkle. A litte disappointed because it would be REALLY nice to have a printer that you can have a spefic envelope drawer and not have any problems and I thought this was the one.

der Artikel wurde genauso wie beschrieben und blitzschnell geliefert. Dies hat mich besonders gefreut, da immer weniger Anbieter nach Österreich liefern und wenn, dann einen schneckenlangsamen Transportdienst verwenden. Für uns im Betrieb war dieser Artikel zum Arbeiten sehr wichtig und hat sofort funktioniert. Ohne große Installationen. Einfach unter den Drucker stellen, die Schubladen tauschen und schon wird aus allen Laden gedruckt! Wir haben zwei zusätzliche Laden und somit 3 verschiedene Papierformate und es funktioniert bestens.

Lieferung im beschriebenen Zeitrahmen. Leider keine Installationsanleitung, aber nach intuitivem Rücksetzen des Druckers dann einwandfreie Funktion.

Der Erweiterungs-Papiereinzug funktioniert nun schon seit einem Jahr problemlos (Arztpraxis). Das Papier wird zuverlässig eingezogen und das ist mir persönlich sehr wichtig.
