How many years of annoyance with the old-style metal hoses - water gets inside the sections and they are impossible to descale no matter how much effort and chemicals. The only choice was to bin them. All of that hassle and expense was done away with as soon as i purchased this hose. Just give it a quick wipe after each use and it stays looking brand new. This photo has been taken after 3 years of daily use. What a fantastic idea to make smooth rubber, which also looks pretty smart too. 1000% recommended!

This type of hose is much easier to clean and it looks better. We ordered a third party hose which seemed to be of a similar quality but although it said the fitting was universal it did not fit our Mira shower properly. The Mira hose does fit and the fittings look to be good quality. Slight niggles? The hose is shorter than the chrome Mira hose. At 1.25m this is a bit short especially for tall people. Would it have cost much more to make it 1.4m or 1.6m? Initially it has a twisted memory (!) and will take some weeks to get this out its system. Less slight niggle. The cost. Seems Mira are taking advantage od the captive market regarding the hose fitting correctly.

My previous shower hose had those awful ridges in which used to attract mold and had to be scrubbed regularly to keep clean. This smooth shower hose is brilliant. No more mold build-up, and easily cleaned with a quick wipe-over. Works a treat. If you've been thinking of switching to a smooth hose, don't hesitate any longer, you'll be glad you did!

Well worth the money

Worth the money. Cheap copies don’t look right to replace the original hose and leak. It’s worth spending that bit extra to buy the official replacement hose for your Mira shower.

Bought this to relace an original Mira hose which, despite having a plastic covering, only lasted two years. To be honest the picture of this item is not very exciting but I was impressed by the reviews so decided to give it a chance. On the shower it looks very smart matching my shower unit. It also feels if it will last much longer than my original. Its not very flexible and has similar characteristics to a reinforced garden hose. Thankfully attached to the wall it has little chance to misbehave. If it lasts it will be well worth the extra money but I have taken a star off for the cost.
