I want to fill some small pits and fissures in my marble countertops. Would this product work well for that purpose?

Yes. This product is a transparent "bondo" and it's an excellent matetial to use in the way that you describe. It's a two-part matetial, using white benzoil peroxide (white cream hardener) as its hardening agent. I use this product instead of Konig Rex-Lithe when I'm doing polyester repairs on pianos.
