My granddaughter is not flashy and didn’t want an over the top first communion dress so she asked if I would make one for her. I used this pattern because she wanted a high collar, long sleeves and a full skirt that she could twirl around. This pattern fit the criteria. The only change I made was to make it button up the back instead of the front because her mother had embroidery done on the front. I like this pattern so much l bought it for my daughter and I bought the next group of sizes for later.

Very versatile pattern, I used it to size for a night gown, but will make a pilgrim dress next fall,and maybe something else in between.

I bought this along with a McCalls pattern and this was by far my favorite. I made the A dress and the steps were easy and clearly laid out. I made two for my daughters and then another for their friend. I love the detail work in the eyelet/ribbon front work. Next time I will lengthen the skirt and add some growth tucks for longer wear but otherwise loved this pattern and will be making the D dress shortly.
