It's a hit!
My dogs have been spoiled with human food which I know is bad..but they refuse to eat any of the organic canned food or dehydrated food. It has has the same things, either chicken, turkey, beef, livers, lamb. They've gotten tired of it all and will literally refuse to eat anything at all. Well I've tried numerous brands with different mixes and meats to no avail.. This however had them as soon as I opened the package. They knew it wasn't the same ole stuff and were actually interested in what I was mixing. I made each of my 4 pups a bowl and they LOVED IT! I'm thrilled to death that I finally found something they liked. Plus i love the strict standards this company keeps. Cruelty free which is the biggest reason i even tried this. Dogs need meat in their diet. The same old boring dry food isn't a good way to go in my opinion..not for my crew anyways. I have a lab named Bailey, a Chinese Shar Pei named Buddy, a Boxer mix named Maximus, and a Rat Terrier named Sweet P. They are all very different beings ,but the reaction was unanimous . They all ate every last speck. I recorded their reactions and them eating, but I can't get it to load. I will figure it out and post the video. It's just too cute not to. Thanks so much for the great product you make. I will be purchasing every variety you make ,now, and stay subscribed to get it every month.

Dog loves this stuff…but there’s a break in period
My hound dog loves this stuff. I use it as a topper, and always soften with plenty of water. Word of warning though, and the only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5, is that it’s super rich and you really need to start your pup on very small doses and work up. By small, I mean like 1-2 tablespoons. I started my 80 pound hound on 2 tablespoons per meal and she got the runs immediately. Cut her back to 2 tbs a day and added beets and carrots and she firmed right up. She gets a 1/4 cup, rehydrated per meal now, and it’s perfect. It helps her eat less kibble, which is just burnt meat cereal filler(even the best ones), and gets her the protein she needs. This stuff, plus her beets, carrots and some bison jerky and she’s a happy hound! She’s actually lost a few pounds since we started on this, and I’m positive it’s because her digestive system is healthy and she makes better use of the quality nutrients she’s getting.

Yuck.
I have two small, healthy dogs (dachshund and Maltese) who have been turning up their noses lately at the usual dry food I've been giving them.I wanted to try something else, so I did my research, and, after hearing everybody lose their minds over "raw" feeding, decided to try the Addiction Raw Dehydrated pet food. Here are my three reasons for the low rating: It comes in a small box, and it's expensive. It smells just awful, especially after adding water. The dogs hate it; they wolfed it down the first time. The second time, they picked at it, then walked away. After that, they simply wouldn't eat it. Never again.

Most affordable air-dried food on the market.
Most affordable air-dried food on the market. My dog loved it just put on top of kibble. It's chunks and powder, so some dogs may require you mix in the water and make it a mush a more appealing texture. Outstanding ingredients. Wish I could afford to fee only this to everyone. It's rich, so dogs will need a slow transition.

My dogs like it but...!
I must say my dogs love this food for breakfast but I won't be using the product anymore for various reasons: I found animal hair in it (probably from the brushtail), I have noticed that the oil is rancid in this particular package as you can smell it (my first package was not like this, it was fine), I have tried 1 type of Addiction kibble (Venison) that had hair, bone fragments and plastic in it (not their fault as it was the manufacturer; Great Life/Pioneer and I must say the other kibbles kangoroo and lamb were fine), however, then there are the quality issues with their canned food (made by Evanger, not a good company), now there are just too many things having noticed the rancid smell in my dehydrated food so I will quit using this food made by Addiction all together. I will stick with Ziwipeak dehydrated food and K 9 natural freeze dried as they NEVER had a quality issue, whatsoever. It is just not good enough for me. I can forgive them 1 mistake but there appear to be quality issues throughout their lines. Also in the end it doesn't appear to be very nutritious either being potato heavy...I should have known everything by looking at the ingredients; they use Canola oil, a very cheap oil of low quality. Don't get me wrong Addiction is not a bad company and this is not bad food, but I prefer for this price a higher quality which I get by using these other brands. I don't want to worry anymore by receiving low quality stuff, so the only companies for these types of food I will use in the future are K 9 freeze-dried and Ziwipeak dehydrated. For dry food the only company that has in 10 years never disappointed me and the food is of highest quality is Fromm, and this as well as Halo will be the only ones I will be using as well. You would think for the price they are charging, Addiction should keep up with quality control. When I contacted Addiction they wanted me to send back the package so they can send me another one I said, no thank you. Never again. I will use up what I have, but these are just now too many incidents. Amazon then sent me a replacement, and I don't want to bug them again and ask for a refund, since the new bag is just as bad as the other one. Never again, Addiction dog food for me!

Nice addition for fibre, but bag was split and taped up, sneaky trick!
This food has helped my dog have better formed poops, the higher fibre content than his other food may have something to do with it. The directions say you don't have to soak it in water, but my dog is not one for voluntarily drinking water readily, so I always add a bit to make sure he gets enough moisture with it. It does swell up, so maybe this is a good thing. Unfortunately I only noticed after he'd been eating it for a few days that the bag had split and taped up, and it was sold in this condition; the selling page says "sold by Amazon" and no satisfaction from 'customer service' about it. This is appalling quality control, how long was the food exposed to the air, what contaminants got in? Who knows?!! For all I know a whole family of mice could have camped in there, leptospirosis included, the point being that knowingly selling food where the contents have not remained sealed is a spurious business practice at best, and shamefully negligent. I want to buy this again, but now I don't trust Amazon to operate with proper business practice related to food. Not happy.

Addiction Fan
I have been a fan of Addiction for many years now, ever since I started feeding my dogs a raw diet. I am very careful about what I feed. I do not support factory farming, so this product fulfills all of my requirements: it's raw, healthy, easy to prepare, palatable and uses brushtail as the protein source--a marsupial which is an invasive species in New Zealand. I do not exclusively feed Addiction, but I rotate different brands of raw food. I can say though that this food greatly contributes to the health of my dogs. I have 6 senior dogs (5 Chihuahas/mixes and 1 miniature poodle), two of them being 17 years old. They are all happy, healthy and in great shape; no signs of arthritis or other age-related illnesses. I do believe that this (and other raw) food makes all the difference! This product is pricey, but a good deal considering the money I've saved at the vet and the well-being of my fur family.

Great food
great food. My dog is only 9 lbs so he eats a small amount. But it is a great food. It smells fresh and looks great. The texture is good.
