Best Body Butter I Have Used
I used to make my own body butter as it was significantly cheaper to do myself and I could control the ingredients. I came across this product while reviewing the Andalou Naturals face care line of products to try something new. I liked what I saw in the ingredients and decided to give it a try. I am very pleased that I did. It nourishes and moisturizes even better than my own product. Goes on very smoothly, absorbs quickly, scent doesn't linger. There is a cocao aroma when first applied, but it is neither overpowering or unpleasant. My skin looks amazing after each use and it seems to keep my skin hydrated very well. Seems to stay on my skin even after a quick rinse off shower after running. A little goes a long way and I found I can get almost 3 months use out of one tube, which makes it very affordable compared to other body butters. Do need to work it out at the end, bending the tube in half to get all of the butter out, and I was surprised how much was left in there. Made it about two weeks longer than I thought I would. A glass jar would make it easier to get the product out, but the tube doesn't make it impossible.

Love this hand and body cream
Rose scent is light and better yet, the cream is thick, absorbable, and wears well. I like that it does not leave any residue. Skin feels healed and fresh.

It's not your mother's rose scent
I recently discovered the Andalou 1000 Roses line products and am pretty thrilled I did. Because my skin (particularly on my face) is hypersensitive, I've explored making my own cosmetics just so that I can control the quality of the ingredients and ensure they're free of irritants like silicone and dimethicone, which even a lot of self-professed "natural" products contain. This line's ingredients list is beyond reproach, and despite my reactionary skin I've had no issues – even with their sunblocks, which are 20-30 SPF. So three cheers for 1000 Roses in general. The body butter is soothing and luxurious, and has a mix of different rose oils which give it its trademark scent. While rose scents can often be either overly literal in a synthetic, nose-in-the-flower way, or else too dry and powdery, this smell is just more...plantlike, I guess I'd say. More like where the stem meets the flower; a vegetal take on rose. To me it smells pretty wonderful, and isn't cloying at all. It passes the "can wear on an elevator with total impunity" test, and it's even subtle enough that I don't mind its interplay with my perfumes. I find it plenty moisturizing – better than the one I was using prior, by the Honest Company – and unlike some of my own (which I make from Shea Butter) it doesn't slightly solidify at room temperature, which makes it less of a hassle to apply. Another good product from a brand I'm liking more every day.

Love this so so much
Love this so so much! It's definitely thick and rich and actually sinks in your skin. I do not have dry skin normally but I can get oily on my body. I mainly use this on my feet and elbows, but it's not too rich to use in the summer all over. I just use a thin layer if I'm applying it over legs and arms, etc. In winter, I may be able to use a heavier layer. I abhor the feeling of sticky or clammy skin from the use of a product that doesn't absorb. I've tried so many body creams, and it seems they usually just sit on the skin and don't really moisturize. This one does not sit on the skin and truly moisturizes and lasts well throughout the day. My test for this is the heel test. Heels are notorious for being dry (and ugh, I can't stand dry heels on myself or looking at them on other people - anyone else out there with me?! haha). If my body lotion can make my heels moisturized throughout the day, then I know it's good (especially when wearing sandals all day). The only other lotion I've tried that did the same thing was Lubriderm for Dry/Extremely Dry Skin (it's the one in the reddish/burgundy bottle). This Andalou one is much preferable due to the less toxic ingredients. And the SMELL. Oh my this has the best rose scent ever. If you like a rose scent, I would bet you like this one. You know how some rose scents remind you of childhood dolls/toys that were scented with rose? And it's like a childish/cheap rose scent? This one is not like that at all. It's distinctly rose-scented, but still fresh and bright with just the right depth and strength to make it very feminine and adult. For me personally, I'm very picky about perfumes and lotion scents. I gravitate towards fresh, clean, bright, citrusy scents typically. Please keep any form of vanilla scent or musky scent far away from me. I do not however tend to get headaches or anything like that from scents, so I cannot vouch for if the scent is too strong for you. I don't smell this beyond application though, but like I said I'm usually applying to elbows and feet. Overall, I will repurchase this in a heartbeat and it's my favorite body cream by far. For a regular lotion, me, my mom and sister absolutely love the Andalou Naturals Citrus Verbena Body Lotion. It's the best I've found. Hope this helps someone looking to make a decision on purchasing.

Not a fan of the scent
Good lotion. Easy to apply. More of a lotion than a cream. I’m just not a fan of the smell. If you like vanilla you’ll probably like it. I prefer the other body lotions from Andalou. I like the citrus scent. I won’t purchase this one again.

Heavenly rose scent. Skin like silk.
Heavenly rose scent that lingers. It’s so moisturizing. My skin is so soft. A little goes a long way. I love Avalon Organic products.

Better than Bum Bum
The scent is nothing like Bum Bum Cream but the benefits for the price are better than Bum Bum! I used Bum Bum for a while and realized it did NOTHING for my skin. I didn't want to burn another hole in my wallet (rather my husband's lol) so I searched high and low for something better. As soon as I put this on my skin I knew it was the perfect choice! It does leave a white residue if you don't rub it in, but that's because of all the natural ingredients. Once it's absorbed into your skin, it leaves you smooth and velvety just like it says! It has a very light and pleasant scent, which made me realize Bum Bum was an overpowering and unnatural scent. I'm glad I switched over to this and look forward to the benefits it will give my skin :)

Andalou was sold - and their new products are worse
After yet another disappointing Andalou formula change, I did a little digging and found that Andalou was sold in July 2024 to Seaweed Bath Company. It has been sold before, so it's not like it belonged to some charming storybook family that wanted to keep the true mission of natural products going, but this would explain the recent ruin of some additional formulas (others were ruined even before the sale). They're slowly changing every single one of their products. I kept seeing all the lotions, one by one, being ruined, holding my breath that another of my favorites wouldn't be ruined, and sure enough, it was the Kukui body butter's turn. Look at the before and after pictures of the ingredients. A few "delightful" ingredients that are in the new formula are: - Water is now the first ingredient, not aloe - Polysorbate 80 - synthetic surfactant - Acrylates/C10 30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer - a petrochemical - Phenoxyethanol - synthetic preservative - Sodium benzoate - another synthetic preservative - Parfum Compare this to the old formula in my pictures, which was completely natural with the exception of one synthetic preservative, ethylhexylglycerin. Dear Companies, we don't want your garbage products filled with synthetic preservatives. Stop poisoning us. Stop ruining good products and swapping them out for garbage that smells the same so it fools most people if they don't read the label. If anyone finds good replacements for the Andalou products, please post them in your reviews. I will update my reviews as I find better alternatives, so that we can stop buying inferior products and support companies that still care to make safe cosmetics.
