does it include the door sensor that tells the Meross app whether the door is open or closed?

Hi, I’ve two of these and have proved very good and reliable. The kit is supplied with a single magnetic switch that either shows the garage door closed or open. Mine is set up to show that the doors are closed if it is open the app shows a graphic of an open door plus after a set time the app will also send you a notification saying the door is open, mine is set to 30 minutes. Is there any way of putting a pin on the ios app as kids use my phone to play games worried if they might go on the app and open it ?

Yes you can set a pin code for either just opening or opening and closing the door. The code is specific to the garage door, not the app itself.

Does this need wi fi?

You will need wi if at home to set this up - yes but it operates on any smart phone I believe - my iPhone is supported via an app that you will need to download. I am not sure yet if this device can be used by multiple users. I am testing it out as I install garage door automation and came across this via a customer. The price is for nothing compared to alternative manufacturer systems and I have had it running for three weeks without any glitch so far. It notifies you via the app as to when your door is opened or closed - it sends a notification each time it’s operated Providing you have notification switched on of course and does this irrespective of whether the door is operated via the app on your phone or via a transmitter or other device such as wall station / bell push which is quite good. This device and smart phone feature could be a rival for buying transmitters as it is a cheaper option. I don’t get how they can do it for the money or why they would want to but we won’t argue. Only concern- it does need some level of diy or trade skill to install it. It’s not just as simple as it might first appear but for the price who cares? Have a go. Nothing to loose but if you have no idea of running and fixing cabling or are a non diy person altogether then you will need to take care and follow the instructions. It took me about 2 hours to fully install in a proper and neat way. Next time I should be able to half that time. For any novice allow half a day and follow the good instructions that accompany the product and as I say so far so good. Hope this helps.

Will this work with roller shutter garage door

This device provides a pulse of on/off like a switch contacts open/close - this works for up and over garage door openers which can work with a simple door bell push type switch - but I'm think roller shutters can have a rocker type switch, with one set of contacts for up and another for down and if this is the case this device would only work to send the roller up or down but not both - if the shutter controller has a single set of contacts that 'cycle' between up and down then this device should work - it's very simple to install and connect to a WiFi signal - hope that helps.
