Great quality. I was a little apprehensive on whether or not it would be sturdy enough but after reading the reviews I decided to try it. I was not disappointed. The product takes a little time to setup if you've never done it before. I didn't see any instructions on how to assemble everything - but it all seemed fairly straight forward. If you need instructions - you should look on youtube so you can see how to setup the softbox.I called customer service about an issue related to my order and was very pleased with how quickly they resolved the issue. They sent replacement bulbs out immediately.The bottom line is that I'm thrilled with my purchase.

Really can't complain. They work well and are probably some of the best lights you can buy for such a budget price. You get more than you pay for. They are certainly not super bright and will not illuminate a large space or make a dark situation look like the sun is shining. I think if you have reasonable expectations this kit is great. It will certainly give you soft light and enhance the subject of an interview or photo shoot. You will just have to have your subject in close proximity to the lights. The only problem I see is that if you will be taking them down and reassembling them very often, you will be doing some repairs and modifications to the soft boxes because they will tear out where the rods push into the corners. Reinforce the corners and you could probably get away with hundreds of setups and take downs before having to fix them. I think they are great for the price.

2 out of 3 of the lights had a faulty middle socket. NOT happy :(

I had to sell a very expensive 3-light setup several years ago and couldn't justify spending anywhere close to what I'd paid before for lights so I perused what was available on Amazon and chose this for it's price and relatively decent reviews.Setup instructions were "okay", but everything was crystal clear after viewing their youtube video and I put these together pretty fast.Quality is "okay" (i.e. - you get what you pay for). Tripod construction was kinda lame, with sharper than expected edges. The plastic housing where the lamps screw in is cheap, and thin. One of the lamp guards at the socket broke while screwing a bulb in. After that happened I just made sure that I was extra careful when installing the other lamps (the socket still worked).The back of the lamps and light switches feel cheap - but they worked fine.Everything arrived in one box, and was very well packed with no breakage. For a first and/or budget light setup I wouldn't think you could complain, and indeed, the photo's taken with them were excellent, so if you're just starting to dabble in fixed lighting I doubt that you could find anything better for the price. I don't think this would hold up very well if you were constantly on the move and taking it apart and putting it back together again, but I'm not doing that and plan to leave them assembled.

I've used these soft boxes multiple times for over six months with good results. I use them mainly in my home studio with a green screen for high intensity lighting. The three soft boxes take about 30 to 45 mintues to set up and tear down, since they are very modular. They have lots of lighting capability and I like the variable switching to change the lighting intensity needed for green screen or regular video projects. Overall, I'm very happy with this lighting set. The bag is very rugged and heavy duty, but is much larger than needed for just this equipment, but my green screen and stand fit nicely in this bag too.

The media could not be loaded. Watch the video in the product description. I wasted about 5 minutes having to make the lights vertical after setting them up horizontally...So far so good. You have the option to turn on 1 to 5 bulbs per light. I'm attaching my first greenscreen test.Clip 1 is with no lighting from the kitClip 2 has Key @100%, Fill @40%, Hair @40%Clip 3 has Key @100%, Fill @60%, Hair @60%I still have a lot to learn about lighting so take the video results with a grain of salt. -- the wobbly subject for example was from holding the cell camera by hand instead of having one locked down by a tripod.

I changed my living room into a studio to take some pictures of my products ( selling them on eBay). I buy this kit for more and brighter light, and it does it pretty well. I am quite pleased with the switches that can control the power on each head. Might need some sandbags if you stretch the head out higher. One problem, no instruction. I knew it from the reviews so I went to the website and watched the video before I bought it. I found it not that hard from what the video showed, and it turned out that it was really not that hard to set it up.

I purchased the lighting kit to take product photography of my 3-D artwork and 2-D paintings. They work great! I have one suggestion. Had there been an option to upgrade the light bulbs to 85W I definitely would have spent the additional money for more wattage. Since the kit contains 15 bulbs if I buy new 85W bulbs now I will be left with 15 bulbs I will never use so I will keep them and make it work. But the kit would be amazing with the better bulbs!
