Q: With a 2 in 1 tank does the clean water mix w/the dirty water while you are cleaning?

No, the two don't mix because the inner clean water tank is a big rubber bladder. It's just a terrible design because it's impossible to clean out all of the nooks and crannies of the outer tank. So it smells terrible.

Q: Is the clean water and the dirty water kept separate?

Yes. There is a large bag inside the hard plastic water tank area. You fill the bag with clean water, and as it cleans, the dirty water is stored in the the hard plastic area, around the bag holding the clean water. After numerous uses, I still am very happy with this machine and highly recommend it.

Q: my machine does not spray water used it twice, whats wrong with it

Make sure dial on front is set to floor or tools, not slightly off. Also on the tank attachment, see if red screen is plugged. Tank needs to be almost full of hot water and set to heavy traffic or water rinse, only two I use. Make sure nothing is plugged-vacuum real good first and when it throws blobs of crud to side, don't go over them, plugs things up. Also, rinse all filters every time you refill with water. Make sure the gasket on the water tank is in place-I had to glue mine down again, or it won't pick up water again. Soap tank needs liquid in it to work well, even doing rinse only for some reason. If you are mechanical you can take parts off and clean, like maybe a line is plugged? I killed a Bissell vacuum recently because I don't want to find the plug-was in a hurry. Not smart! Good luck. Owner's manual also good resource...and I clean mine with hose outside underneath it-can't clean with dirty equipment. This thing is perfect for ill dogs, shall we say. Guess I just learned what to fiddle with? Sorry not more help, but don't give up.
