It is sturdy and made of a durable plastic that snaps over a slim rubber bumper. While the rubber isn't bulky it does have a raised edge near the glass screen. I dont think it would be raised enough to help with a direct phone face plant.The screen protector is a sticker film not tempered glass. I could not apply it without bubbles being trapped. It was easy to remove & left no residue.I love the design, the colors are vibrant. It looks and feels like a case that should be around $30 but not having to pay that much for a great phone case is awesome. I've dropped it several times without any issues. It does not cover the enough apparently because within one month of having this casing on my phone my screen cracked. The phone screen cracked under my tempered glass screen protector that is still uncracked.
