Definitely worth the cost!
I'm a retired plumber, so I didn't get the chance to work much with pex systems. You guys really have it easy these days for sure! I bought this tool for some small jobs around the neighborhood and I love it. Works great, Ryobi out did themselves with this little gem. As an older guy, I was running some 1" pex and discovered I couldn't do many 1" clamps manually, 1/2 and 3/4 were my max, but the 1" required a lot more hand strength and that's where this handy dandy tool shined for me. Great Tool, fun to use:)

It's great if you need it.
So this thing works very well. It's fairly effortless to run and it's easy to have one hand holding things in place with the other running this tool. However, I bought this before I bought the regular hand tool, and if I had bought the hand tool first and used it enough I probably would not have bought this battery operated crimper. The hand tool works fine, it's not as convenient and it will definitely wear you out if you're going to be doing it all day but I am working at home on projects for irrigation and plumbing repair. This battery operated crimper was really overkill for me. Even if you already have Ryobi batteries and tools I don't think you're going to want to buy this unless you are doing multiple jobs. If you are this is an awesome tool to use.

Works in TIGHT spaces.
I love this thing. Before I had it, I was manually crimping rings by hand, which if you have the room to do it, it works. If you don’t have the space to do it, it just won’t. In steps the Ryobi tool. This thing is stout. It’s a one-button operation, has a built in go/no-go gauge, a pocket clip (it’ll pull your pants down. This thing’s heavy), and works with 18v Ryobi batteries. It’s a powerful and fast crimper, it’s just the right size to fit into very tight spaces, and it makes your jobs go so much faster. If you’re working with PEX, you need this tool. Seriously, it’s a job saver.

Good tool
Very solid tool. Sometimes it can be hard to crimp certain fittings but that’s ok.

Well built and works great.
I am a DIYer and was looking for a cordless Pex pinch clamp tool. Did I really need one? NO. I already have a manual ratcheting Pex clamp tool for my RV that is plumbed with Pex but I am in the process of remodeling my master bath and am going to use PEX so it is an excellent excuse to buy one...plus I like tools and gadgets. I purchased the tool only, along with a battery adapter so I can use my DeWalt 20V Max batteries in it. This tool is well built and has some weight to it. It does not feel cheap and it has a nice beefy feel to it in your hand. FYI, This tool is for the PEX pinch cinch clamps, the tool pinches the clamp from the side. This tool is NOT for the Pex Crimp clamps rings , the tool that goes around the whole PEX clamp and squeezes it down. The tool works great and cinches the clamp tight. The great thing about using this tool is that you only need one hand to make the crimp. You can hold the PEX pipe tight against the fitting with one hand and use the tool with the other to make a perfect crimp. With the ratcheting hand tool you need both hands to use the tool. I really like this tool and recommend it...
