I have used this several times now, when I expected to be exposed to lots of sick and contagious people, and I didn't get sick. I appreciated that, but as someone very familiar with science and research, lack of evidence doesn't mean evidence of lack. Then my husband got really sick, and stayed sick for a full month, then caught another cold and was sick for 2 more weeks. As soon as he began feeling sick I also noticed I had a bit of a sore throat. I decided to start taking this daily until both my husband and I were better, and forgot that I was taking this. (My PA filled my monthly med container with these, as well as all the rest of my daily meds.) I ended up taking two of these every day until I ran out over 2 months later. Exactly 2 days later I came down sick and went to look for these to see if they would help, and that's when I realized that I had been on them daily for the prior 2 months. Boy was I surprised to realize that this is why I didn't get sick, when everyone around me was coming down with horrible colds and flues! In fact, I know there were 7 nasty colds, and 6 nasty flues, because I know several people who got ALL of them! For over 6 months everyone around me seemed to have these horrible illnesses, and were spreading them to everyone I knew. These sicknesses were so bad that over a dozen of my friends were hospitalized from a few of these baddies. (Yes, I have a lot of friends.) However, I never got ANY of these colds or flues!, not a one! Or, not until I was off this product! As soon as it arrived I started taking 4 per day. In about 4 days I was feeling ok, except for a left over sinus infection. Shortly thereafter several more colds came through the area and everyone around me got sick, but I didn't. Yes this stuff is expensive, but not as expensive as taking a week of work was! Definitely not as expensive as my friends who were completely out of commission for over 2 months and ill for over 4, and especially not comparable to those who had to spend over a week in the hospital! From now on, this has become part of my regular winter meds!

I used the ViraStop 2x (double strength) and this ViraStop (normal strength) and the products work. The 2x was too strong (for me) at first so I had to slow down the amount I was taking. I have had a virus in my body for 20+ years (I had Hep C until about 14 years ago) so have been dealing with health issues most of my life. During this last year, I got a psoriasis-type rash on my neck for 6 months along with 4 swollen lymph nodes in the same area. I tried fasting for 10 days, juicing, juice-fasting, goldenseal/ecchinacea, garlic, cayenne pepper, etc. and nothing worked completely (I would feel a little better, rash would subside, but then come back.) I then started ViraStop 2x and after figuring out my 'right' dose (took about a week), I started feeling better. I kept it up and started doing Castor Oil packs on my neck and everything cleared in about 3 weeks - rash gone, lymph nodes down. I still take this and will continue because I know how difficult a virus is to conquer, and I don't want to live through this again. So, right now, I am very, very thankful for this product.

This stuff works great. It helps support my body from my Lyme disease but I just can’t afford to keep getting it . Great size and it doesn’t taste like anything. The pills are like a dirty grey brown color and the bottle is easy to open.

A friend told me about this wonder supplement and it really works! We use it whenever we start to feel sick or just as "insurance" when there is a bug going around the area, and it has been very effective at keeping us healthy. I just wish they made a kid version that was easier for younger kids (who can't swallow pills) because it works on the rest of us so well. Update 2/1/15: Enzymedica has changed the name of Virastop to Enzyme Defense and eliminated the Nattokinase. Nattokinase is an enzyme derived from fermented soybean, so it may have been removed for those sensitive to soy products, but I am disappointed it was removed because it is so beneficial to those of us with digestive difficulties. I'm not removing any stars yet, though, because I would prefer to wait and see if it is still effective without the nattokinase.
