The best dollar value for carving knives for wood and soap. To even come close, you need to spend almost 3 times as much as you do with Beaver craft. Thus Beaver craft has always been my to go knives.

I gave it to my daughter as part of her tea set, as the handle appears to be designed for a child. Tiny, tiny handle.

It has a very nice type of metal that doesn't chip and the blade handle is amazing.

Overall unimpressive build quality, even at only $10-15. For similar money you can buy a Mora Precision carving knife, which is much better build quality and steel. The wood handle is comfortable and splinter free, but the blade is of poor quality. Uneven grind lines, scratches on the blade, and was only marginally sharp. And there is no sheath, unlike every other knife. I already had a carving knife bag so this wasn’t a major concern to me. After sharpening the blade it performs well, but again feels very flimsy. 1066 steel is rather durable but since this blade is very thin i wouldn’t want to be rough with it. If this knife were $5 dollars, easy recommendation. But at a cost similar to Mora, it’s hard to justify.

Pretty disappointing to be honest. Found it to be a pretty dull knife out of the package but I guess you get what you pay for. I’ll invest my money into better tools next time.

Beavercraft usually makes pretty good, affordable stuff, but I’m not sure about this knife. It’s the dullest knife I’ve ever bought and hours of stroping doesn’t seem to help. It was fairly inexpensive, though. I haven’t decided to send it back and buy a better knife for 2x as much, or sharpen it on a whet stone.

This knife is solidly made, with a quality blade that came presharpened. I only noticed after receiving it that it's actually made in Ukraine. The handle was unfinished, so I was able to stain it nicely with a darker shade. It's totally worth the money, and the package even came with a couple of bandaids, in case you cut yourself while whittling. Great buy.
