I regularly use IFTTT for home automation as it is one of the most effective tools I've found and so this update to their remote power switch is a significant improvement over the original.My initial thought was to finally put this inside of a power outlet as a smart control for a couple of lamps in my living room. However, the power outlets in my home have 2 sets of wires and would, therefore, have not been ideal for this device as I could only have controlled half of the outlet or needed 2 devices for the whole outlet. While one device would have fit snuggly into the socket I think 2 would have been a very tight fit.I can't blame LoraTap for this, however, as my power outlets are not universal and because the power switch was clearly labeled on the product page as having a single pair of wires for switching power for. IF you have a power outlet that only needs one pair of cables, it would be an excellent use for this device.My general goal with devices is to avoid having multiple switches in series (a physical then a digital) because one can interfere with the function of the other so power outlets or appliances I think are preferred over light switches. What I did after abandoning the wall outlet was replace the previous LoraTap I've been using in my bedside lamp. IT's a great device because it's small enough to fit comfortably inside of the lamp while improving the functionality to allow me to automate the use of the lamp.The product has worked reliably and given that it can be used with IFTTT it has tremendous flexibility for home engineers who like to tinker and to create new tools.I honestly cannot wait to see future products from this company for improved home automation. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Basic, no timer, but connects easily enough. *by J***K on May 26, 2019* It's basic, but it works. It connected easily, but just know that it has no timing/inching feature, and it doesn't remember the previous state if power is disconnected to the relay itself. When power is restored, it's always in the "Off" mode. But it's good for anything you want on and off for a longer period of time like a fan or a lamp. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Wi-Fi controls switch *by R***D on April 7, 2021* This is a great little switch that can be used to control different things. I have it controlling the control power to an industrial control relay that is used to supply power to a 220V single phase machine. As long as you use this as a master that drives a slave device, such as another control relay, this little things is downright AWESOME! I've read some of the other reviews and it sounds like a secondary relay would probably help achieve success. To do so, have the Lora Tap switch turning on and off the control power to a relay that controls power to a solenoid or motor starter.I did have to use the AP mode to setup the switch, but one I got it setup, Alexa now controls it! This little thing is great!
