Pentair 350013 Lid O-Ring, Challenger (All), WFE (After 11/98)

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Seemed to match OEM number and right size.

I've seen a couple of writeups attesting that this was "too thick", did not come in genuine Pentair packaging and therefore was not OEM, etc. However, I ordered this for my Pentair variable speed pump based on the part number and it arrived in vacuum sealed Pentair OEM packaging. When I opened the package I simply cleaned the ring with a paper towel since it had some packaging/manufacturing "residue", then I applied a liberal amount of Hayward's Jack's Multilube (good stuff, although a bit expensive), and I got a nice seal on my pump. A couple of tips: - Make sure you thoroughly clean the pump housing and the area of the pump itself where the O-ring is going to make contact. I just use a toothbrush, water, and paper towels for this task. - Use a disposable glove to hold the ring and put the lube on it. You don't want any of the lube on your skin or clothing because it's hard to take off. - VERY STRONGLY suggest you buy and install a Hayward W530 Large Capacity Leaf Canister in your system: (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E2D62W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) -- This will make cleaning out the leaf canister on your pump a thing of the past, and will be easier to clean out than having to struggle with opening the leaf canister built into your pump -- Will do a better job filtering out leaves, trash, and other things out of your pump which will prolong the life of your pool pump since it has a finer filter mesh than the one built into the pump -- Will save you time and money (at least in my case, it keeps the occasional mouse that falls into the pool out of the pool lines preventing clogs that require a professional to blow out of the line)

I have a pool and hot tub that sit 4-10 feet below my pumps and filters. Suction is a big deal. I had old tops and old rings, I did not realize how bad they were impacting the suction getting water from the pool up to the pumps...ugh. I waited too long, but now it is amazing....

Works and fits great

Product work as describe. Price was reasonable. Item look used, package was open and already had grease on it. I inspected the o ring and it looked good. Replaced my old one and work just fine. That why I gave it 4 stars out of 5. Wouldn't have mind buying use but item was stated as "new".

replaced o-ring old one had cracks in it. Also, replaced lid had developed stress cracks over the years. O-ring stopped air bubbles forming in the pump filter. Fit perfectly.
