My daughter showed it to me just cuz she found it funny. So the next day I surprised her with it. It actually has information in it. Everybody poops, so it’s safe to say everyone lets a tushy cough too. Even Benjamin Franklin.

The book contains many interesting writings by Ben Franklin on various subjects of his day but also so relevant to today's news.

I enjoy leaving it on the table for curious eyes to see😁

This collection of essays, songs, articles, letters and diatribes is a fantastic look at wit and intelligence of one of the key figures in American independence.How we've squandered his work and the sacrifices of his contemporaries is very plain. This book should be required reading in schools - and unlike some of the other reviewers, I am glad of the editor's final thoughts and conclusions about what Dr. Franklin would think and say about our current political circus.It is a book that I've replaced multiple times in my personal library as the people I have lent it to were so impressed by it that they allowed someone else to read it, and it wandered off (almost by it own motivation) into more hands. The title itself is pure genius, as it stops and interests people as to what is meant by it.In short, get this book. You'll be looking at current events differently both in your own area, and in society at large. You won't regret it.

Funny little book, but arrived completely soaked in water!

I had to keep reminding myself to read the date at the top of the essay, as his wisdom still applies today! I can remember my father who had 2 masters degrees from an ivy league college telling me "that's an interesting idea, but what practical good does it do?" So many of these essays that were penned with a wink of the eye and the sardonic wit were directed at governments, academic societies, social mores, and institutions where the "utility" of what they were proposing or forcing on their subjects was wrong, arrogant, and foolish making it my father who was echoing Ben Franklin! Some essays like the farting essay and the choosing a mistress essay had me laughing out loud, and then still thinking hours later.
