So happy I purchased
I bought this bike to help me stay in shape during quarantine. I did a TON of research on lower-priced spin bikes and ultimately decided on Marcy. Here are some of my thoughts/experiences with the bike so far. Assembly The bike arrived promptly and took my husband and I about 30 minutes to set up and included all of the tools necessary to complete assembly. The only hiccup was installing the water bottle holder. The screws are self-tapping and I found them impossible to get to them to fully seat. I ended up securing the holder using hair ties; however, most of my water bottles are of the Swell-style and are too tall to fit into the holder anyways. Pedals I read some reviews which indicated that one of the pedals fell off mid-ride and the threads were stripped. I did some research on bike forums and found that its really easy to cross-thread the pedals. To prevent this from happening, I screwed in the pedals almost all the way by hand and, if I encountered ANY amount of resistance, I would unscrew and start over. I still spent the first couple of weeks riding in fear of the pedal coming off but it's been about 6 weeks of considerable use and I haven't had any problems. I also eventually switched out the caged pedals for SPD pedals. Walmart had a set of pedals, shoes, and cleats for about $70. Handle bars The handle bars do wobble a little bit but not to the point where I feel unstable out of the saddle. I also wish the handle bars could be raised by one more hole. I'm 5'9 and am already on the last hole. I imagine anyone especially tall would need to drill out another hole to get this bike to work. I also wish the shorter, inner handle bars (not sure if there is a more technical term...) connected at the top to more easily attach a tablet. Comfort/Noise A lot of reviews mention the seat being unbearably uncomfortable. I personally didn't mind the seat and have not swapped it out for a better one. I've done all sorts of rides through the Peloton app on the bike and have had no problem doing any of the "moves" on the bike. The bike feels very secure while riding. My husband was super skeptical when I decided to purchase a lower-priced bike and was quite surprised how "legit" it looks and feels. Overall, it rides pretty smooth and quiet. I paid $230 for the bike and, for that reason, I'm giving it 5 stars despite some downsides. Prior to quarantine, I took one spin class a week. Using this bike and the Peloton app, I've done about 5 classes/week and have fallen in love with it. I really expected to sell/donate the bike once things start opening up again but I've decided to keep it and continue with the Peloton classes. I think if I keep using it more long-term, I might get a more higher-end bike. However, for my current needs, this bike is perfect. I would fully recommend this bike for someone who is looking for a less expensive bike or is a more beginner and/or casual user.

Great durable bike with heavy resistance
1st day arriving- extremely well packaged with very attention to detail when it comes to where they put all the items you need to assemble the bike. It comes 80% assembled, all you need to do it screw in the bottom two bases, the seat, and the handlebars. It is extremely sturdy with the ability to stand and pedal without the bike shaking vigorously. Took me about 30min to assemble. Things to keep in mind- make sure you match the left crank to the left pedal vice versa, if you put the right pedal on the left crank. YOU WILL STRIP OUT THE CRANK AND CAUSE THE PEDALS TO FALL. This will render that crank useless thus the entire bike a oversized paper weight and needing to be replaced. if while twisting the pedal onto the crank you feel resistance STOP, you are putting the wrong pedal on. Make sure everything is screwed on tight, I didn’t use the included tools I had proper tools so I got it much tighter than I would have if I used the included. THE SEAT HAS BEEN CHANGED! I see a lot of reviews that talk about the horrible seat included, I had actually ordered a seperate seat but when this bike arrived the seat it came with is wide and extremely plush and squishy so I returned the one I ordered (pics included) Things I don’t like: I’m 6’0 and it is ever so slightly uncomfortable to reach the handlebars, I can remedy this by lowering the seat but by doing that I can’t fully extend my legs so that makes it more uncomfortable. this can be fixed if Marcy added additional holes for adjustment in the posts and their is room to do so. I could imagine you can drill out holes like another reviewer did. But if we’re talking stock and no changes, if your over 6’1-6’2 then definitely look elsewhere. It makes a clicking sound which I believe is coming from the chain not the actual flywheel, I can imagine it can be fixed with either oil or a tweak to the adjustments in the chain but not a lot of people are handy to fix this like I am. Will update in a few months EDIT 5/03/30- the different cushion seat That I said was so soft and cushiony is actually too soft that it provides no support for your butt, you sink and your basically sitting on the rock hard base of the seat. DEFINITELY replace the seat once you buy. The handlebar foam really soaks sweat so I can imagine it’s gonna break down in a few months and tear apart. PRICE BUYER BEWARE- I noticed Marcy as a company changes their prices for their bikes often in increments of $50-$150, I paid 249.99 for the bike, I’d suggest to not pay anymore than that, it’s not worth in my opinion the current $350 price tag. As far as being uncomfortable like I said in the first review, I’ve adjusted to it. It no longer pains my back. But I can imagine a person over 6’0 would not adjust to this. END OF EDIT 05/03/20 will update in 4-6 months

An honest spin bike that gives you what you need
My HIGHLY ANTICIPATED spin bike has arrived (a full business day ahead of schedule no less).... the box arrives and is heavy and bulky (as expected). Once out of the box the install goes together without much fuss and is pretty intuitive. The most difficult aspect we’re the install for the pedals. That was as tiring as a spin class in itself, but I had remembered that I had a bike pedal tool in the garage. These can be had for $10-20, possibly even cheaper. For this job it would have easily paid for itself. If you have the tool use it, if not consider getting one from your LBS. as for the bike... I didn’t go into this expecting it to be on par with a Peloton bike with all the bells and whistles. That said it is exactly what I was looking for which is a easy to use, gets the job done bike that is very ascetically pleasing to look at. I feel this is a good middle of the road bike and a value for the price. My only complaint/ wish is that I wish it had some type of electronics or mode select options but for the price again it does what I need it to. This is what I’d consider a gateway spin bike in that you can buy with nothing to base the purchase on and if spin/ cycling turns out not to be your thing your investment is minimal, however, if you go head over hills and fully embrace the spin lifestyle go out and get that Peloton or like bike and have at it. The stickers look like happy hour possibly started mid shift as some of the lettering are not quite symmetrical. Not an issue to me though. Great bike! Post ride update: please do yourself the favor of swapping the seat. No kidding this is the worst saddle I’ve ever had under my rear. You could skip installing the seat and just plop down on the seat post and though I doubt you’d find it more comfortable, it undoubtedly wouldn’t be worse. It literally is like sitting on a fire hydrant.

Good exercise bike
Purchased this one about two weeks ago. The delivery was quick and actually two days earlier than estimated. The whole package was a little heavy but not a problem to me. I could handle it without any issue. The impression from these two weeks' ride is that it is much better than what I expected. Here are something I really like: 1. Easy to assemble. It took me about 30 minutes to put it up by myself. It definitely will be better if you have two adults for doing that. 2. The frame is made of steel and it feels very sturdy. The quality of the parts is good. It looks pretty decent to me too. 3. The handle bar's height is adjustable and the seat can be moved up or down and vertically too. There are 4 people in my household. We adjust the positions of the seat and handle bar based on different heights and we all feel comfortable riding it . 4. The 40 lbs flywheel is heavy and makes the ride feel smooth. 5. There are two small wheels under the front base bar which makes it easy to move to different location. This bike is chain drive, not belt drive. The sound is a bit louder when you ride on it, but I expect that. Not a problem to me. This bike is not a smart bike with all the fancy electronics and connectivity. But if you want, you can buy and attach speed sensor, cadence sensor or heart rate monitor etc. yourself. It is very easy to set up and it is actually much cheaper. Overall this is a good exercise bike and I am glad I bought it.

Questionable sturdiness/build quality but overall not bad for value
Assembly is pretty straight forward, not difficult if you look over parts. Not sure if I got unlucky and they mishandled the package or the builds of the mainframe come with imperfections here and there. Where the mainframe connects to the back stabilizer is severely bent so one bolt didn't go in fully which seems alright for now, but I'm questioning the longevity of the product since the mainframe came in bent to begin with. Box was a bit banged up, but I wouldn't think a few bumps and drops could cause the metal to bend to that degree. First test run was solid. Handles are not aligned or uniform, so it's a bit uncomfortable since I have to lean to one side more than the other. Doesn't bother me enough to warrant a return, but feel there may be people more bothered by this

Good bike for the price, comfortable seat, not so sturdy, chain driven, and heavy flywheel
Good exercise bike for $200. The seat is comfortable. I guess it not what shows on pictures. The seat I got is wider (see attached pictures). It is a chain driven as they mentioned on the description. Not so quiet. But I am okay with it. Some reviews says it a belt driven one. That's not true. I like the heavy flywheel. It's comfortable to ride. Not so sturdy. The bicycle body is sturdy. But the seat and handle move a little relative to the bicycle body. That is because the poles are slightly smaller than the whole size for it. I put a piece of plastic (old gift card) to the gap to stop that relative movement. (See attached pictures) It fixed the problem for the seat. Coudn't do it for the handle. I am okay with it. That samll movement is not noticeble. Other than these problems, it's very good spin bike.

Excellent Bike - Peloton for a tenth of the price.
Quality commercial grade bikes have 4 things - belt drive, robust bottom bracket, heavy fly wheel, magnetic resistance. This bike has 3/4. Which, the magnetic resistance is more novel than necessity. With a belt drive, 40# flywheel, and strong bottom bracket, you'd need to spend $800 - $1200 to find a bike comparable to this one. After having had Sunny bikes, which served me well, this Marcy is a definite step up (within the price range, as stated above). I'm 6'3" my wife is 5'2" - this bike easily accommodates both of us. Also, if you've had other spin bikes, you probably are aware you can remove material from the bottom of the seat and handlebar brackets in order to get them to drop down into the frame further. As for the arm rests - if you're more used to spinning than road bike training, they can be annoying. I fixed this by removing the arm rests and installing tennis racket grip on. Works excellent. Additionally, I've always replaced the stock saddle with a Cloud 9 seat on all our spin bikes. Make sure to get the woman's version, as the male will be too big for proper leg movement, if you share the bike with your wife/gf/etc. Peloton releasing their app has to be one of the worst business models known to man. I would have bought a Peloton, if the app were not out. If you have a non-Peloton, simply get the app. To run on a big screen go ipad/iphone --> Apple Air --> Apple TV. My wife likes to use bluetooth wireless headphones while using the big screen. This is an great choice, buy with confidence.

A most buy for most riders!!!!
If you just started indoor cycling or you are only going to ride a few hours a week this is a good bike at a great price point, BUY IT NOW!!! I have doing indoor cycling for 6 years. Sitting to ride five to six days a week with or without an instructor. I'm so addicted to indoor cycling, when I travel for business or vacations my shoes are the first to go into the luggage and I'm looking for a bike to clip in. So serious spinners like myself you may want to consider another bike or make some the following modifications I made to this bike. 1. Purchase Venzo Fitness Shimano Exercise SPD Compatible Spin Bike Pedals because real spinners clip in. 2. I replaced the seat. The seat that comes on the bike bounces like crazy and I've grown accustom to the hard rigid seats on commercial gym bikes. So I replaced it BLUEWIND Bike Seat, Most Comfortable Bicycle Seat Memory Foam Waterproof Bicycle Saddle. 3. Ten mins into my first ride I had to remove the handle bars and drill another hole to raise the handle bars higher so I wouldn't hit my knees when I came out the saddle because I could not vertically adjust the handle bars. BTW I'm 5'11" tall. The only reason why I wouldn't recommend this bike for serious spinners is the inability to horizontally adjust the handle bars. With that said for the price point and for as hard as I ride I am extremely happy with my purchase. The bike is extremely sturdy when you come out of the saddle and pretty quite. Since I purchase this bike I have ridden it HARD an average of two hours a day. If this bike can last me one year, I hit the lotto. If it last six months I received a good return on my investment. But as I stated before if you are novice or you going to ride few days a week for 30 mins to hour. BUY IT NOW!!!!!
