1" Brass Ball Valve - Full Port 600WOG for Water, Oil, and Gas with Blue Handle

I used this valve to replace a unit that broke after a recent freeze. It isn't quite as beefy as the Apollo valve it's replacing but it works great and seems to be of good quality. Best of all, it was available. In my city freezes aren't common so a lot of people had the same problem I had and were caught by surprise. The first weekend of good weather that came along, all the local retail joints sold out.13-Aug-2018 Update: After running with this valve for a while, I see that there is some evidence of rust around the handle. The valve itself seems to be fine, and the problem seems to be the nut holding the handle in. I will keep an eye on this and possibly replace the nut with a waterproof one but I shouldn't have had to.27-Apr-2021 Update: So in Houston we famously had a few days of freeze in the time of Covid, how wonderful. This ball valve could not handle it. I did have it wrapped with some thick newspapers and covered with a bag but apparently it wasn't enough as when I went to turn the water back on in the spring, it leaked at one of the joints. Contrast this to the thicker Apollo valve that weathered it better with about the same amount of wrapping.The good news is that the rusty nut I mentioned earlier never really ended up being a problem. In any event, the valve did give me decent service for a couple years and since a couple of the plastic pipes broke I'll have to do several replacements. If not for concerns about inclement weather I would have used this again. Although I could have conceivably done a better job of wrapping it up, I will be looking for a stronger replacement.

Needed to control water flow to various hoses, sprinklers, etc. Found the ‘garden’ hose splitters either leaked or were too hard to turn off/on. Built this from scratch with 1/2’ NOT brass pile & fittings. Valves are easy to turn, shut-off well and easy to see what is off and what is on. Very happy.

I needed a 3” ball valve for my water truck. The valve was received 3 days after placing order. The valve was a perfect replacement and works great!

Bought a half dozen, one leaked everywhere around the shaft seal right out of the package. Frustrating, as it required dismantling the manifold I just built and resealing all the pipes when I put it all back together.The other 5 didn’t leak- at first.2 of the 5 began leaking within a week, with another joining the leakers within the second week.4 out of 6 leakers in less than a month.Sad, I’ve had 80 year old American made valves that don’t leak.I will be shopping other sources for new old stock American made valves, sick of imported crap that should’ve been thrown straight into a scrap bin right off the assembly line.

The valve itself is great for the limited use that I have had it for, holding air pressure with no leaks, but the cut out for the handle is not deep enough and leaves very little thread for the screw to secure to. This causes the handle to easily become loose and slip off. Working on a suitable solution for this as I did not discover the flaw until it was installed, but did discover it within 10 operations of the handle.

Am using this valve in an irrigation system with low pressure.The valve works perfectly with no leaks. The full port feature is important to me to provide low resistance and high flow.I am considering replacing my gate valves (that leak) with this valve (that doesn't leak).

Although I have just installed these valves on my boat lift, I am impressed with their quality. The valves are well constructed and I believe they will work fine.

Nice valve!Installed in my boat so that I can shut off the fuel when changing the filter in the Cool Fuel module otherwise it tries to siphon the gas from the tanks which ends up in the bilge...not good.
