That is the whole point with this compass. I got so sick and tired of those cheap plastic compasses that can't complete half a circle before it loses the radius. This compass can and does hold the radius. **Q: Will this compass hold/work with Radiograph tech pens?** A: The pen/pencil holder can hold a pen or pencil with a diameter up to half an inch (or 12 mm). A good rule of thumb is that it will hold a Sharpie Fine Point or Ultra Fine Point but not anything bigger. So it depends on the exact dimensions of the Technical pen you have. **Q: Is there an ink attachment that fits both compass sizes?** A: The compass comes with an pen/pencil holder that can replace one leg of a compass. It fits on both compasses. This is used for when you prefer to draw your circles with a pencil or a colored marker. For example the Sharpie Fine point fits nicely in this attachment. (Regular Sharpie markers are too fat).
