They both were accurately calibrated out of the box when they arrived. As a precaution, I decided to do a 2 point calibration anyway. I have been using them for the past 6 weeks to give an honest review. I have purposely not done another calibration so I can document when they start to drift. I normally would want to calibrate every 2-3 weeks as a precaution. I am very pleased with how they have been performing. I would order with confidence again. In the screenshot I shared you can see the variance in the two probes. 0.05 is about the threshold I would say is time to do a calibration. They are starting to drift in my opinion. But they are still very accurate. Just not as precise. They are quick to respond to dosage chemicals which is important if you are controlling chemical pumps based on pH. The best way for you to check would be taking a reading in your standards with the original cord. Then add the jumper and see if the readings are the same. Post back here, please, if it works! **Q: Can soil be mixed in water to get a soil PH with this meter?** A: Just mulling this over. First, get your baseline water pH. I would try mixing the same dirt/water ratio a few times and see how close the readings are. If they're similar, I would super saturate the dirt in water and measure that. **Q: Can this be use in fresh water tanks !!** A: Yes.
