VerbatimBD-R 25GB 6X Blu-ray Recordable Media Disc - 3 Disc Jewel Case Box - 97341

I must admit, I was a bit nervous trying a 50 GB Blu-ray recordable disc. They aren't cheap, and a error costs dollars not cents. Well to my joy there was absolutely no errors! The Verbatim 50 GB disc recorded without a hitch. Didn't really take notice of how long it took, but I can say it was less than an hour. That's pretty fast by any standard. I have a sata cable connecting my drive, that makes a world of difference where speed is concerned. I have had the best luck with Verbatim discs by far, I cant remember ever getting an error on any one I've used to date. Great quality and very reliable.

I gave this five stars. Why? It burned without error. It read the files I tested out after burning. I'm happy. But that's not where it ends. What constitutes good and bad optical media, how should we judge the quality? If you're burning 50 GIGS of data, and it's not for blu ray video, chances are it's being used as archival data storage. It's being used in manner in which you want to access data many years from now. You could easily buy a USB drive, or external hard drive, but those do have a finite amount of read/write cycles; meaning they do "wear out".So, if you're like me, you want something that will last decades. This is as close as it gets.I give a five stars now, but where it really matters is how this disc will perform in 10 years from now. I have do have many discs (CD Data and DVD data) that are over 10 years old, and both still perform without error. But I hesitate to give this particular product 5 stars, because it's criteria for 5 stars won't be known for many years from now (at least for my needs).Any optical media can burn with decent results with regard to not making a coaster, but how much of all optical media can stand the test of time? No too many people give reviews to tell that their disc is still perfect after many years. But to me, this is critical in whether a disc is good or bad.

Product worked well. Was able to back up a ton of family pictures that I did not want to lose. Made a few coasters but that was due to a needed firmware update on the Pinoneer BD Burner, and Correct software, otherwise, worked like a charm.A tad pricey, especially when you think about the $6-$8 coaster failure, the media has longevity since the disks are well protected, and will never fail like hardware would. Good product.

Great Quality burns on the first time. However, Blu-ray disc price are too high in price. Sometimes, gambling with genericcompetitors might be worth the risk.

I used the first disc on authoring several home videos with DVD Architect. Didn't have any issue like it did with the DIGISTOR 50GB BD-R 6x Media Discs. That's not to say that the last disc brand was bad but it had an error on the first disc I attempted. This one gave me no issues and works great in my Sony Blu-Ray Player.Edit: After re-reading this review, I thought I should add in that I use the following drive. ASUS BW-12B1ST/BLK/G/AS 12X Blu-ray Internal Burner with Disc Encryption, Black It seems that certain media tends not to work on some of the drive brands out there from what I've been told. These discs work well with my drive seeing how I've used 12 discs total and haven't had a single bad disc.

Not long ago, I found that I had to make some space on my hard drive to work on projects that require a lot of hard disc space. That need gave me the opportunity to organize and archive many treasured videos, archival material, and so forth. This dual layer Blu-ray disc did the trick.I love Verbatim discs because of their superior quality in the DVD+RDL format. That prompted me to try the single layer bluray discs which awarded me a pleasant experience. From there, I decided to try the dual layers, and once again, excellent.If you broke it down, the cost for each disc would come close to $10 a piece. That said, it would be a good idea to back-up data that you would be happy to pay $10 to back up.It is a disc I highly recommend.

Bought 3 pack BD-R and arrived on time as expected.This is a very good product and works perfect with different drives. I burned three movies of size 36GB,42GB and 50GB on 3 discs. No problem in burning discs at 6X. My Panasonic  Panasonic SC-BTT270 5.1 Surround Sound System  and Philips players can play the movie without any issues. I used  LG Electronics BP06LU10 LightScribe 6X External Blu-ray Rewriter Drive (Black)

I finally got a chance to back up some files to one of these discs. I put about 23.6GB onto it. My burner stated that it had 14MB room left. I burned it at a slow setting, 4X, and had it verify the process afterwards. It took 24 minutes for the writing process, and 21 minutes for the verification. That's amazingly fast relative to the amount of data and time needed for the DVDs I'm so used to. I have no need to run it faster, and slower is supposedly a lot more accurate for burning. So all in all, I'm very happy with this product. I only bought the 3-pack, so if the other two work out as well, I'll feel safe in getting larger packs in the future.

Good quality as advertised!

These discs come in sturdy old school jewel cases which should protect the disc itself from various acts of god. Write speeds were variable, but the data burned played back with solid reliable consistency. A definite/hands down required purchase when looking to acquire bdr blanks.

to be honest haven't used them yet.. purchased with burning UHD disc, didn't realize I need a UHD burner... may just hold onto them till I get a UHD burner.
