Black Magic 5044830 Select Scratch Resistant Tint Film, 35% VLT, 24-Inches x 78-Inches

The Select Scratch Resistant Tint Film can actually be scratched. I actually used this to tint an arcadia door to help keep electric bill down in the summer time. The film is hard to work with when you are applying it to a long window / door. If you are using this on a car window it might be easier as you are applying it to a much smaller surface.

The issues I had were user error, I wasted a roll because I didn’t follow the instructions

In general the product seems good. I did not realize I would need glue, so the adhesion is decent without that.My biggest issue is that it’s impossible to install!!! I really did my best but there are folds and bubbles everywhere, and it’s coming off in a corner of my window. Very difficult to see out of it and I have to remove it. I was originally going to order a darker version but then these issues would only be worse with darker tint.

I've had some good dark window film that was thick and yes, a pain to put on but once on it was very dark. This stuff is so thin, it tears very easily. It's on but it tore twice getting it there! You have to wet the window and both sides of the film with soapy water. It takes a while to get the bubbles and air pockets out from under it. I wish I had bought the better stuff, but it is what it is.

Cheap tint should last a while , if you have tinted a window I recommend having someone to do it for you , very difficult to install , one of this roll should tint two front window .

What’s more to say, pretty much opposite of what they advertise. Easily scratch, kink, air bubbles. Clarity is great being in the shade but under direct sun light. A slight haze compared to other tints. But for the value. It’s great and gets the job done. Just don’t buy for the quality.

Pretty easy to install, but it crinkles very easily and you have to work really delicately.

I was a little nervous about the 'do-it-yourself' aspect but wanted to try it. I purchased the film installation kit (all the tools and soap solution) and that made all the difference. You will definately need a 'helper' to hold the film away from the glass until it's ready to go on. Once it's on the soap solution keeps the film from 'drying' too soon and that time gives you the opportunity to smooth out the wrinkles and get it looking good. The only regret I had was I wish I had gone darker but be careful of the laws in your state. Great product for the price.

See the tint in the pic? Ya it's not this stuff. So thin the 35% might as well be sandwich wrap. Dont recommend, creases very easily and all in all sucked. Let cure for 48 hours with no windows rolled down. First time 50 hours after install....it tears. 👎👎
